Bar Harbor Honeymoon - Help!

So we just booked our hotel for a week of relaxing and unwinding outdoors in our favorite New England state for our honeymoon. We booked a Holiday Inn Regency in Bar Harbor, Maine that's only like 2 miles from Acadia where we plan to make several trips into for various hikes and sightseeing while we are there.


I'm looking for suggestions that anyone who has been in the area before may have. Mainly what to bring for September. We live in CT and go to Maine often but we've never actually been in September and don't know what to expect. Any suggestions?

    Layers! we went in October and had 2 days of 75+º weather and they two days of 30º. so be prepared for both. plus it could be hot in Arcadia and then be cold at hiking summits. Also, keep an eye on hurricane season!

    We go every fall in mid September and def agree with pp. layers! It can get really hot then drop to almost freezing at night in Acadia. You wouldn’t think it would be much higher elevation but Cadillac mountain and hikes like the beehive get really high and cold so just be prepared. Also have good hiking boots. We camped last time we went up right on the beach and it was amazing but it got cold. Didn’t help left over hurricane remnants soaked us for the last day. It’s amazing up there and we are actually doing a little mini moon back up after the wedding. Can’t break the tradition!
