It's been a few weeks since our wedding and we finally have a few sneak peeks from our photographer. We had an intimate 50 person outdoor brunch wedding. The weeks leading up to the wedding were full of drama but on the day of the wedding, it sounds cheesy to say but none of it really mattered. People who want to be there will be there and our vendors were so great at making everything run smoothly. Everything ran exactly at the time it was supposed to (Ceremony- 10am, 10:30 half cocktail hour, 11am reception).
If I had any advice to anyone planning the wedding, it would be to plan the one you want and don't worry too much about what others think. We did a lot of unconventional things (brunch wedding on a Sunday morning), mismatched bridesmaids dresses, no speeches or first dance, invited kids, I changed into a romper at the reception, etc. and it worked out just fine. Also, one other thing is to have someone record the wedding! We didn't hire a videographer, but had our friend record the ceremony with our DSLR camera and I am so glad we had someone record it because I didn't expect myself to love the video as much as I did.
All of our vendors were wonderful, but I have to highlight one of our favorites which was our wedding singer. I would definitely recommend considering a live singer to perform at your ceremony (and reception). She elevated the wedding and set a very romantic/relaxed mood and our guests were asking me about her for weeks after the wedding. We recorded a video of her singing our recessional song below:
