Ballgown dress!?? Help! 1
I have fallen in love with this gorgeous gown, BUT it’s the trunk show sample so the length is huge and of course doesn’t fit the way it will when it’s hemmed and altered to my size. This dress lights me up the most, but of course my concern is wearing this monstrosity and how I will be able to move through the night. It bustles up beautifully. My question is to the brides that have worn ball gowns, what was your experience through the night? Good, bad, ugly. Tell me any advice you may have! I really appreciate your thoughts, opinions and ideas. Xx.Sarah

If you love it, I would definitely go with it! Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst with the reception - I would do the bustle and hope you could make it through the night. But, I would also take a comfortable secondary dress with you to change into just in case you’re miserable. Congratulations on finding your dress! It looks beautiful on you!

I had a large ballgown and I was fine. Choose comfortable heels and you’ll be ok.

I had a ball gown with a cathedral train and loved it. Honestly, unless you want to spend the whole night running up and down stairs or through muddy fields, it won't be an issue.

I absolutely love your dress, it's gorgeous. This was my dress, for comparison. I did not have a bustle but I did have a loop which helped me for the outdoor photoshoot.

Wow that dress is gorgeous! If you love it I d get it and have it bustled for the reception. If you are getting any white dresses for other bridal events (shower, engagement photos, etc) maybe bring one of those with you just in case you get uncomfortable later in the night. Lulu's also has pretty fun and affordable little white dress options if you decide to go that route. Good luck!

I had a large ball gown and the only tiny thing that was a little inconvenient was sitting at the table bc the skirt spread out around my chair a lot. Not really even a big deal, nothing else was an issue!

The dress looks wonderful. Look at this as your only opportunity to wear such a gown. If you can enjoy it for the night on that basis, it will work out fine. If you like dancing a lot, that still can work well with the bustle.

Beautiful dress! I also had a ball gown with long train. I had NO issues with it, after the ceremony and photos I had it bustled up.
