This is something I would maybe give someone a hard time about, but not see as a flaw in their character.

It's a red flag but not a deal breaker. I would have to see if this behavior was indicative of an overall attitude or if the person just doesn't like to tip. If the former, it would become a deal breaker. If the latter, I could get past it and just do the tipping myself.

    Red flag if he's cheap
Deal breaker, if he's controlling about money. I won't be nickeled and dimed to death.

My Daddy did this to my Mama and it drives me crazy!

Red flag. I'm a tipped worker.

Let's just say FH had to work on this one.

Deal breaker. If you aren't willing to help someone afford a living wage, then you don't care enough about others for my liking. If the service is so bad I wouldn't want to tip them, I'd still give 15% and just ask to speak with their manager.

This wouldn't have been a deal breaker but I would have convinced him to tip better had he been a bad tipper. After being a server for a long time and stiffed by cheap jerks I can't stand when people tip poorly for things that are not the servers fault.

Honestly, I tip no matter what because I have worked a job like that and know how important the tips can be. My fiance also tips no matter what so this hasn't been an issue. However, I'd say probably a deal breaker because, as I've said, I've been there.

Red flag. But it depends. If HE is taking me out-I want to be taken out! Is he just a tight wad or does he expect me to pitch in? I prefer an old fashioned gentleman.

Never really been an issue for us. We do our best to tip what we can.

Mmm no. maybe a red flag but i'd def say to give it some time. Generosity can be learned but you also need to be aware of people's wallets, awareness, and financial frugalness.

It was a red flag. When I met my FH he didn't tip at all... We discussed it, and why tips are important, and now he's a pretty good tipper. It's a correctable issue for someone to have.

Red flag. I didn’t know I was a bad tipper because growing up in a large family, we almost never ate at restaurants so it wasn’t something I learned. FH got me on track though bc he is a good tipper. At least I learned better.

Red Flag - this would totally be a talking point but not a deal killer (unless he refuses to discuss it).

Red Flag. I've been a waitress a few times in my life and how you tip really explains a lot about a person.

Red flag. Tipping is such an insane idea, anyway. It would just be better to pay employees an actual wage, to start. However, I still always tip at least 20%, and my FH will do so as well when he is with me.
