"Bad" luck

I know most people would say it's bad luck to have your fiancé see you in your dress before the wedding, but I'm going to look at dresses and my fiancé wants to be a part of it. I don't have much support from anyone else and I don't feel like I have much of my family or friends who want to be a part...

I don't have much support from anyone else and I don't feel like I have much of my family or friends who want to be a part in helping me find my perfect dress, has anyone else had their fiancé help them be a part of this part of this wedding process? How did it go for you? I know most people say it's bad luck.

Growing up I always thought about and pictured how I would want my wedding to be but now that I'm actually getting married, I'm nearly clueless about it and I never realized how many different styles there really are until I actually went online and browsed! but to me online browsing just isn't the same as going and seeing how you would look in the

different styles and me being a bigger girl, I'm definitely picky so I know it's going to be harder to pick the perfect dress for my perfect dress!

I've seen a lot of couples see each other personally before showing up up together in the ceremony. Some weddings have a videographer and that's where I seen a good bit of couples seeing each other.. It's so sweet.

My fiancé went to look at a ton if dress shops with me to pick out what he liked for me to try on, but when it came to actually try them on my mother and sisters and dad went with me. So he actually picked my wedding dress, he just doesn't know it yet Smiley winking

That's kind of what I was wanting to do with my fiancé but everyone is making such a big deal about it and saying my marriage is going to fail and that I'm breaking the tradition, it's annoying mainly because my mom isn't trying to have any part in helping me look or browse but she's one of the ones saying it's breaking tradition and saying it's such bad luck for our marriage

FH has seen pictures of me in my dress. He won't see it in person until our wedding day now, but he helped decide.

Since we aren't getting married until 2019 I figured looking at dresses now just to get an idea wouldn't be such a big issue anyways because new styles come out all the time and I figured when I officially start to look for my official dress then I'll do it when he's working but right now I don't see any problems with him coming but everyone's making such a big deal about it and I just don't get it. :/

FH went with me for my first wedding dress shopping experience. Mostly because I knew I probably wouldn't find anything. If you feel more comfortable with him there, go for it! He's still going to have the wow factor on your wedding day when you come out in your properly fitted dress, hair, and make up.

My FH knows my fashion sense better than I do, he took me shopping and saw my dress. He won't remember my dress especially since I'm going to be all fancied up on our wedding day so I didn't think it was a problem

I brought my FH with last week when I bought my dress. For me it was the best way to go since he keeps me calm (I was dreading dress shopping) and I knew if he liked a dress then it really did look good Smiley smile

I don't believe in the bad luck bs. I just want him to be surprised is all.

@Chancie...you have 3 years. Lurk on WW for a while and you'll learn many things including what not to do. When the time comes to start planning you should be well versed on wedding planning!

I don't believe in any of that and my husband is my best friend and the first time I went and looked at dresses I Wanted my best friend with me. Granted I didn't find the dress I ended up choosing that day so he didn't see me in it until our first look but I wouldn't have been scared of bad luck if I found it that day with him with me.

Yeah, my fiancé doesn't like that everyone is making such a huge deal of it and some have even said "he's going to lose that thinking you're beautiful moment."

I'm not really planning, I'm just browsing as I've mentioned many times but to me looking online and in person is very different. There are many different types of wedding gowns and I want to have a specific type of dress that I know I want before I start to actually look for my wedding dress. I feel the same way about having my fiancé there, he truly is my best friend of course I would want him there.
