Bachelorette Weekend-Mom or No Mom

My neice, who is my MOH suggested that I should invite my mom and one of her girlfriend's on my bachelorette trip in Cancun. I'm considering it. Would do you think?

Before I even met FH, I thought my ideal bach party was my mom, my sister, and I at a spa. This still sounds awesome, but things have expanded a bit since then. I think we are doing a winery tour with all of the ladies and maybe my bridesman so she will probably still be invited.

It really depends what you are planning on doing for your bach! My cousins are planning mine along with my BP and knowing my cousins and my friends it can get wild, so we are not inviting adults from either side. I will also add that I am very close with my mom and we are only 19 years apart (she had me young) but its just not the atmosphere for a parent.

I didn't. My mom didn't want to spend a night going to bars/clubs with a bunch of 20-somethings. Depends on the type of event you are having.

Really depends on how you feel about it? Not every relationship n Bach vibe will be the same...how do YOU feel about it?

    N O M O M.

I adore my mom. She is a good friend to me. We drink together plenty. Be we do not talk about penises together. So if there's any fun rowdy raunchy bachelorette paraphernalia involved, I would be super embarrassed.

I guess part of it depends on your relationship and your comfort level, but it is not for me. Mom is involved in other ways

ETA I forgot about my friends-- I don't want them to have to worry about Mom . I know I would be uncomfortable if I had as at someone's Bach and their mom was there. Even if they're fun and cool I would still feel a little awkward around them

I'd also feel compelled to invite FMIL then and even though I love her I do NOT want her there

My mom will be at mine. Won't go out at night with all of us on all days but she will still be there for part of the fun

Agree. It 100% depends on your relationship and how you think she'd feel if something crazy happened.... ie. male strippers. My mom is awesome, but she would flip out if a male stripper showed up. I'd pass for that reason. She's a little too conservative for my friends!

First wedding the gals and guys took 1 limo to Boston for the bachelor and bachelorette parties. Same night/time/city, but different clubs. Only the bridesmaids and groomsmen were invited. My second time around I honestly don't want a bachelorette weekend cuz I'm in my 30s and don't really have the time or money..... if you and your mom are close and you think she would enjoy the festivities, invite her. However, if you aren't close or she'd be the only person in her age group there, don't invite her - just show her plenty of photos when you get back!
