Bachelorette party

Hillery, on December 30, 2013 at 8:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I'm the MOH and I'm trying to plan a bachelorette party for my best friend of 20+ years. I want everything about her wedding to be special and most of all for her to be happy. The BM's and myself have looked into cruises and Vegas but after alt of headache and back and forth we decided it was too much. I would really only like to spend $600 at max for the Bach. Party but the wedding is in may and cold weather is a problem. Also the bride will not travel more than 4-5 hours in a car. I'm desperate to find something that she will be blown away with but so far only let downs. Any ideas?

Im really up for anything Ive brought up casinos, comedy clubs, hotel at the beach, and a burlesque/strip class but didn't get much excitement. Also no strippers allowed. I'm just all out of suggestions lol

Where are you from? How far is 4-5 hours away?

What is wrong with a good concert or a ballgame, or even just a fancy dinner followed by a pub crawl or hot nightclub? I have already told my friends that I want to keep it somewhat simple. Have you asked the bride what she wants? I had friends with HUGE plans and I had to shut them down. I felt badly about it, but I really just want a nice evening with friends.

What if you rented a house somewhere on air bnb? I've seen great deals in good locations... pretty much anywhere... a friend of mine did this in the hamptons... it was super affordable and one night we cooked dinner at the house and had drinks there, and the next night we went out for dinner... there was no crazy partying but it was just nice to be in a house with everyone hanging out.

She really wanted the cruise and Vegas for the brittney concert but with all 3 bridesmaids in different states it was very difficult to get it all together and about $1200 cheapest way. I live in Williamsburg, Va. I just feel like I really got her hopes up and she's not going to be as excited about anything Smiley sad super stressed!!

I'd also suggest seeing about renting a place for the weekend, having a girls weekend -- mani/pedis, watching movies, drinking wine, etc.

Perhaps a spa party is an option for you all? Are people not game for doing the go out drinking thing?

So you are pretty close to richmond, and also fairly close to DC. have you thought about renting a limo for a day and wine touring around richmond? or if you want more party-ish, hit up DC, there is plenty to do there. you are about 5.5 hours from atlantic city, nj too for casinos

We rented a house for mine and everyone LOVED it. There was a range of ages and interests but it went over very well!

If you're in Williamsburg you have so many options...is the $600 total or just your share?

You could easily do a night in a hotel in Richmond and go out there (I like Carytown or The Fan)

The Outer Banks (not much nightlife, but get a place with a hot tub and hang out!)

Wineries in Loudoun County or Charlottesville area (get a hotel + transportation, lots of packages for this!)

    Night out in Arlington/DC

    Virginia Beach

Last time I went to VA Beach we stayed at the Westin in VA Beach Town Center - it was WAY cheaper than staying on the beach and we just drove to the beach each day. However you may miss out on the nightlife that husband and I didn't care too much about on that trip.

They are doing these Boudoir Bachelorette parties for around 1200 and its for the entire bridal party, hair, makeup. Group photos and then the more risqué photos in private/individual. They have champagne, appetizers... they are kind of popular where I am from in Florida.

OMG. Didn't realize you were in Virginia. We recently rented a convertible limo and went wine tasting. You could turn it into a two day affair if you wanted to. OR....BUSCH GARDENS???? HELLO? I would kill to have my bachelorette there. Also, www.vrbo.com has awesome vacation rentals for a weekend trip.

Haha unfortunately Busch is kind of an everyday thing so although it is really fun it's not really special. The winery thing would be fun as well but I'm really interested in this photoshoot idea sounds like a great way to capture memories and goof off a bit. Y'all are awesome!
