Hi all! I just wanted to see when everyone is having their bachelorette parties?

The reason I ask....is it weird to have the party quite a few months in advance? My Matron of honor and I were talking on the timing and since my wedding is in April it poses a few threats with timing and what not.

We live in Ohio and are doing the party in Nashville and with the month before being in the dead of winter and around the holidays, would it be weird to do in late summer this year to have the nice weather and also the three day weekend of Labor Day? I realize that's way before the actual day, but to me that doesn't matter? What matters is spending time with my girls no matter where we are or what we do.

So I just wanted some input on if you think them throwing the party in September would be too early for a wedding all the way in April 2018

Thanks!

My wedding is in January and they're doing it in December. I originally wanted the party during the summer months, but I had the same reservations. Do it whenever you're comfortable!

Mine will be early November for my February wedding in order to avoid the holidays.

From my experience, timing is not much of an issue if the bachelorette party is the same year as the wedding. I am having an October wedding with the bachelorette party in April (because of timing of other obligations) and seasonal temperature of the party location (in New Orleans).

Mines in 2 and a half weeks! Woohoo! I'd say that's too early for sure

We did ours 2 months before the wedding, but I wish we'd done them even further in advance honestly! If 6 months before is the most convenient time for everyone, I think that's fine.

I think it depends on your girls and what works, i usually think they should be closer to the wedding but hey whatever works for you guys. Mine is probably going to be the week before so my aunt/Bridesmaid can attend as well.

I don't think it really matters when you do your bach party as long as it works for everyone!

What are you planning to do in Nashville?

I'm also getting married next April and am having it in November. I was scared it was too early but I want to go to Vegas and see Britney - and she's finishing in 2017 and other then early November my only option is around Christmas. Someone who can't come will do a simple night out on the town in our city closer to the date though. So it's a win/win!

Wedding is 1/20 but bachelorette party is 11/10 weekend to avoid the holidays. If there weren't holidays would have possibly been a bit closer to wedding date.

I think whenever you can do it is fine.

For me personally we are doing mine the weekend after Labor Day because I want a lake house weekend and my wedding is in December so it's a little earlier than I'd prefer for myself but the timing fits plus with my job I cannot take any time off early November-April.

I think the closer to the wedding the more excitement that builds around it. Whatever works best for you, do it!

We're having mine mid August for my late October wedding.

It worked the best with everyone's schedules (two are teachers so it's before the school year starts, and another is coming from abroad so it was time she could travel).

My bachelorette party is July 29th based on timing with my summer session with grad school and my work schedule with other staff being on vacation in August so it worked out that way for us. My FH bachelor party is the weekend after mine since we have to arrange different times based on our dogs and somebody to watch them which is why we chose different weekends and it worked out perfectly that way.

Sounds early but if it works for folks, go for it.

(You might be able to score a better deal in January or February, though, if that's a consideration. And the weather there will beat Ohio's!) (Or at least NE Ohio, where I am.)
