Bachelorette party timing

Heather, on June 7, 2017 at 2:18 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 37

Hi all! I just wanted to see when everyone is having their bachelorette parties?

The reason I ask....is it weird to have the party quite a few months in advance? My Matron of honor and I were talking on the timing and since my wedding is in April it poses a few threats with timing and what not.

We live in Ohio and are doing the party in Nashville and with the month before being in the dead of winter and around the holidays, would it be weird to do in late summer this year to have the nice weather and also the three day weekend of Labor Day? I realize that's way before the actual day, but to me that doesn't matter? What matters is spending time with my girls no matter where we are or what we do.

So I just wanted some input on if you think them throwing the party in September would be too early for a wedding all the way in April 2018

Thanks!

I personally think a Bach party in sept is to early for a April wedding. A couple of months?Yes but half a year? not so much.

Mine is in August too, Kate!

OP, I would say your MOH should plan it closer to the day, but that's just my opinion. I have no clue what the weather is like in Nashville in March, though. I am sure it would be fun regardless of season.

You can do it whenever you want. a friend has his bachelor party almost a year in advance because there was an event out of town that they all wanted to go to. Mine is 2 weeks before my wedding, FH is having his a month before.

    @KDoubleU

March weather is not so good there. It's usually very rainy and average temps are in the 40s to 50s.

Whenever! Whatever works best for your host(s) & girls. My fiancés is this weekend, which is 3 months before. They are going to a 3-day music festival, so it just had to be this weekend.

Mine was just this past weekend! But I think it can be whenever you want. My bridesmaids husband had his 6 months before their wedding.

Do it whenever works best for you and your guests!

My good friend had a November wedding with a June bachelorette party. Her younger siblings were still in college and several of her friends are teachers or in grad school, so it made more sense logistically to plan the bach party and shower during everyone's summer break!

I think sept seems way too early for an april wedding. Mine is this weekend and my wedding is in 50 days, so just under 2 months out. We have no free weekends left after this weekend before the wedding between planning and travel, so this just worked out.

However, having it 6 months early because of "weather" doesn't really make any sense to me. I think 4 months out would probably be the max that would be okay.. and I doubt anyone will have time in Dec so I would shoot for Jan/Feb/Mar if I were you.

Mine is 3 days before my wedding with my bridesmaids. We're just having dinner and drinks out on the town.

Now I'm not a local bride so a friend is throwing me a party locally with some girlfriends Sunday afternoon. So that's 34 days before my wedding.

Do it whenever works best for the group. My entire bridal party is from out of town so my MOH figured having the bachelorette a few days before the wedding would be best - and she's right! Everyone can attend. Lawd help me having it 48 hours before we get married, tho

My friends wedding was in April and we had hers in February. I did it early because I knew that last month was SUPER busy and she had a chance to really enjoy herself before the wedding crackdown. Smiley smile

I just had mine this past weekend and my wedding is in October...so it was a little over 4 months out! But the reason we did this is we went to NYC and my MOH has been many times and said exploring the city in the dead of summer can be too hot and not fun which is why we did in beginning of June for better temps!

I have heard Nashville is really nice in October/November...maybe you could do it then before the holidays and still get good weather?
