Bachelorette Party in FL? Where to go- please help!

Michelle, on September 28, 2010 at 2:40 PM Posted in Planning 1 12

So for the last couple of years my friends and I have been going to Vegas for Bachelorette parties. We love a good excuse to get out of the cold. Now its my turn for my party and I would like to go somewhere different! We were thinking Miami but flights to Daytona and West Palm Beach are coming in over $100 less. Would either of these be a good place to go? We just want a beach or pool to lay by during the day, and fun places to go out at night. I have no clue about either of these places so anything you might know is sooo helpful! THANKS

I live in West Palm...Would be glad to give you some ideas on hotels, etc. You should also check out flights into Ft. Lauderdale. Sometimes it offers a lot more options at better pricing. I just flew in and out of Miami last week and it is insanity.

You can get the best deals in the off-season...Right now South Florida is gearing up for our season...The late fall - spring months when the folks from the north come down. The prices are much higher during this time of year than they are during the summer months.

Either of those are on the beach and both popular for vacationers. So lots to do!

We went to Key West for mine. It was awesome and a total blast. We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, and were within walking distance to Duval Street. Perfect party place!

I am from Daytona and would not recommend it. There isn't a lot to do if there isn't an event going on.

Jenh is right on the flight pricing because I live in fort lauderdale & it's much cheaper to land here then MIA. You should try South Beach if you & your girls are looking for a wild girls night out you should go to South Beach or Las Olas which is in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Let me know if you need my help.

Thanks for your help ladies- I reallly appreciate it! For some reason Fort Lauderdale is not coming in any cheaper than Miami, both are around $400 for a flight in May from MN (whereas Daytona and West Palm were only about $250). So I take it that it would be worth the extra money to go to Fort Lauderdale or Miami then??

There are tons of fun things to do in West Palm too. The beach is great. There are clubs and restaurants downtown and if you fly into West Palm you can drive to Delray - 30 min drive and Ft. Lauderdal - 45 min drive. You can google Clematis Street in West Palm, City Place in West Palm, Atlantic Avenue in Delray and Las Olas Blvd. in Ft Lauderdale to see what they have to offer as far as restaurants and nightlife and shopping, etc.

You can't go wrong coming to South Florida.

Thanks so much for your help ladies! I really appreciate your opinions since I really have no clue about the area. I was hoping that since there was a beach and it was a decent sized city there would be things to do! I guess I might be leaning towards heading into West Palm and then maybe we could go to Ft. Lauderdale or something for a night too! Thanks again- I may be in touch with a few of you again when it gets closer. YAY Smiley smile

Hmm....I live in Miami and have lived in other locations in FL in the past. Depends on what you like. If you are pretty low key, West Palm would work. DON'T go to Daytona, its an outdated 1980's spring break destination. I will say nothing compares to Miami and the South Beach nightlife if you're looking for really exciting glamorous nights out that will last until the sun comes up. It is more expensive, but its up to you. Ft. Lauderdale is about 30 miles north, you should be able to find cheaper flights. Look on Spirit Air, they fly into Ft. Lauderdale and are very cheap. They are expanding their airports in Feb. Let me know if you need any good ideas!

Hi Ladies. I've read through all your great posts and have found it very helpful for sure! I am looking to host my bachelorette party in Ft. Lauderdale and and wondering if it is better to rent a house there or stay at a resort. I see that houses are much cheaper to rent for the amount of girls I have going but I am kinda wanting a little more of an energetic type atmosphere (Music at the pool, fun or upscale bars and restaurants, etc.) and to be right on the beach. I have heard mult. opinions for the girls saying Ft. Lauderdale is kinda requirement community like but we are not from FL so what do we know! As long as we stay somewhere where there is a good mix of day and night activities is good with me. I am wanting to probably do a night at South Beach for a little fun(nothing crazy crazy) but prob stay closer to Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood area and maybe find a wine tasting somewhere around the area. Any thoughts on good resorts of condos during October to rent out would be awesome!! THANK YOU!
