Bachelorette Party August-wedding May

Alyssa, on July 29, 2019 at 11:30 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6
Wondering if anyone else has had their bachelorette party far in advance. I’m starting to feel a little self conscious that I asked to have my bachelorette party in August although the wedding is not until May. FH and I live out of state from all our family and friends. We are taking the 8 hour trip home the same weekend to have our respective separate parties. Home is not always the best weather and winter can last until April! We really wanted good weather and decided to do it in summer to ensure that.

Also having a hard time feeling like a bride because it is so far out 😔 We’ve been engaged since April 2018, so I’m excited to do a significant wedding event, but trying to get myself in the mode of celebrating that I’m the bride. Anyone else experience this and have some advice??

I am going on my bachelorette party next weekend and am not getting married until April 2020. 3/5 of us are teachers so we wanted to go when we didn’t have to take off work!

I had my bachelorette party in May, and I'm not getting married until September. It's not quite as big of a gap, but it didn't feel odd to my girls at all. We did what worked and made sense for us. Go with your August plan and don't worry about a thing!

Hey Alyssa! Congratulations on your engagement!

It’s fine to have your bachelorette party that far in advance, especially since you live so far away from your hometown. It sounds like the weekend in August suits you both perfectly and that is what is most important. Hopefully, it will also make you start feeling like a bride as your first wedding ‘event’. Do you know what the plans are for your bachelorette party?

I had mine in Vegas at the end of June and we are getting married November 9th. I had a couple of teachers in my group so summer worked best for everyone and we also have alot of weddings coming up in the next few months, most are not local, and I was really not willing to be out of town for an extra weekend that close to my wedding... I already feel like I have way more to do than time to do it.

I agree, there's nothing wrong with having your bachelorette now!

Not at all, wedding will be in March 2021 and I was planning on having bachelorette in Oct/Nov. Working in the travel industry you get to see where the cheaper dates usually are and I want for everyone to be able to go away with us.
