Baby powder it up before putting on the dress?

smithereens, on July 15, 2014 at 9:15 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

Anyone going to be loading up on the baby powder before putting on your dress? I've talked to a lot of people who say it is a must to help with the sweat. Any other tricks I should know about? I've also heard about spraying hair spray on your butt to prevent wedgies, but I don't know if this fun fact from Miss Congeniality is legit or not, haha. Thankfully as of today, it is only supposed to be 79 degrees on Saturday.

Body Glide prevents chafing so I'll be using that between the ole thighs!

Added note: I used body glide all over my feet when I wore Keen sandals for a week in Disney world and didn't get a single blister!

I'd recommend body glide. I used it as a runner and it was AMAZING. I'd worry that the powder would create a paste if you start sweating. Use the body glide everywhere - even your feet to prevent blisters.

I use BodyGlide as a runner. Don't buy the bullshit female kind. Its more expensive per ounce and is in smaller packaging than the male version with virtually no difference!

You'd be surprised that baby powder doesn't create a paste. It really helps! I'll definitely be powdering up

Monistat makes a chafing relief cream that you can put on your thighs to prevent chafing without the baby powder and it's $6 at walmart

Bodyglide comes in a deodorant like package and you use it to prevent chafing. I used it when running around my arms because I tend to chafe on my armband. Its also great for your inner thighs preventing dreaded chub rub. You can buy it at most sporting goods stores Smiley smile

Bodyglide is a glide-on solid gel that you put wherever you would chafe/something would get irritated - underneath bra line, on thighs, wherever elastic will be, the feet, etc. It's clean-applying, lasts forever (8-10 hours), and doesn't feel strange. I used it to prevent crazy heat rashes during marathon-running. I also use it on my feet when I have new shoes to prevent blisters.

Like Koch said, you can get it at any sporting goods store, running store, etc.

Gold Bond also makes a chafing gel. I haven't tried either but I will use one for the day of. Just remember to put it on before the dress and undergarments. I saw a post on Pinterest that the bride forgot and there was a picture of her on a bed on her back spread eagle in full bridal garb with her BM/MOH putting stuff on her thighs! Don't want that picture although it would make for a fun story.

As far as hairspray on the butt...I used to use that trick as a dancer all the time. Spay a little on the panty line and let it dry just a tad so it is tacky and slip the undies on. Works like a charm.

Spray deodorant will help you stay dry which should prevent chafing.

I didn't like BodyGlide. I prefer Secret deodorant. It works well for my chub rub!

I like body glide because it doesn't plug up my pores like antiperspirant does. I also find that it last longer, antiperspirant always wears of or rolls off.
