Average cost of photographer?

Hey all, my fiancé and I just booked our venue for our wedding next September. We want to jump into finding a photographer, but am getting some mixed reviews about "average" cost for a wedding photographer. I think I'd trust people on here more than the photographer telling me what to expect to pay. I'm sure they're being truthful, but would like an unbiased opinion. We're in western Massachussets so any advice in this area would be best, but all advice is appreciated!!

I'm paying 1600 for 5 hours and 50 edited images (the rest go through a simple edit) 2shooters, thumb drive, and rights.

$3500 for a small album, 8 hrs, 1 shooter, high resolution photos. I'm in South Florida. I would guess this is above average.

I'm in Nashville, I average between $2500.00-$4500.00 . So you could spend $3500.00 in your market and up for a good one I'd say. Really there is no set value, only what it's worth to you and what makes business sense to the provider.
