I feel like we can't start to plan anything else without knowing how much we can or what is generally appropriate to spend on a venue. I know that it is probably going to be our biggest cost, but what is average these days? Right now we have a budget of 10,000 and are thinking 100-150 guests. Any...

Any help at all is appreciated!

My venue is 2500 and we get 500 back after there is no damage, etc. There is a kitchen, bridal/groom suite to get ready upstairs, ceremony space, and reception area. They have tables and chairs for the reception but not for the ceremony if it is outdoors, which ours is. They will help us set up/tear down but it doesn't include any catering, planning coordination, etc. It is only for the location, and reception tables and chairs.

I cant believe how high these are!! I would never be able to afford anything that high. My entire budget is less than $4000 we are paying for it ourselves, we have a total of 6 kids combined, we have a house payment, and all are other bills. I just dont know how people pay so much!

My venue was only $550 and it's beach view. It comes with tables, chairs, and linens. It was such a great deal! The catering cost is out of this world!! Thankfully, we are only having 40 guests. Plus, we had to rent a dance floor. So, whoever you decide with, check for those hidden costs,

My venue rental fee is $6000. The per person cost for food, alcohol, linens, place settings and service charge will end up around $225 per person. For 100 people, that's almost $30k total. I have never seen pricing as low as some people are listing here for a traditional venue.

I understand that not everyone uses a "traditional" venue and that's fine. I realize there are many other options for weddings and they will likely provide a lower cost. Traditional venues / banquet halls are probably the highest cost option of all - especially a Saturday night dinner. But those venues are my only reference point since that was what I researched and I did not come across anything for less than $75 per person. And $75pp was for a brunch.

It's totally going to depend on your location. That's the biggest factor. We are getting married in Austin, TX and our venue is is like, $8500 I think. It includes some stuff like tables, chairs, linens, DJ, DOC, bartenders... But not catering or cake or anything.

I think it really depends on where you are located and what you are looking for. We are getting married on a Friday to save us from a $15,000 food and drink minimum, but our venue still cost $4700 for 5 hours, for just the space. We have to rent event table, linen, chair, cup, plate, spoon, etc. I would definitely recommend looking for a place that at least includes tables and chairs!

My venue was $6,000. They provided antique tables, antique chairs, linens, and a farmhouse and game room from the Friday before at 10 am to the Sunday after the wedding at 12 pm.

We booked a Sunday at a golf club and food/2 hrs. beer&wine/setup/ceremony will run us $4100 for 50 people - it includes standard linens/tables/chairs for ceremony. It was worth it because I didn't have the worry of bringing in a caterer or renting a venue that would require having a rental agency to come in and set up tables, etc.

    You've got time - start searching! :-)

Yikes. Ours is $169 pp that's with three choices of entrees and five hour top shelf open bar, unlimited apps at cocktail hour, four tiered wedding cake, after party with pizza and sliders at a nice beach resort. Also includes our room for the night. Ceremony site on the beach is another $1,000. We have a $15,000 minimum and except to exceed that's since we are having about 120 ppl.

It depends on your location. I am in LA County. Our venue costs $25,000. This includes food, alcohol, tables; chairs w/ cpvers & sashes; dinner/glass/flatwear servers and linens.

I'm looking at an all inclusive venue which cost 3400 on a Friday with a food min of 5700. That's pretty good considering most venues in my area charge 5k for the venue + extra if you have your ceremony there. That price only includes tables/chairs.
