Hi fellow brides to be, how do you decide on the wedding date? I am looking for a date that is auspicious for both my fiance and my family.

We knew we had to wait at least 2 years and got engaged Nov. 1 2015. Also had to be around college breaks (long enough to follow he wedding with a honeymoon) so it was either summer of winter break and I so prefer winter AND our current anniversary is December so we went with December. Didn't want it to be during a holiday, but did have to be after school let out. That brought us to the weekend of 12/15-12/17 and well, 12/17/17 sounded nice and since we were certain it would be a DW we thought Sunday would be best in case either of us still had to attend class on 12/15 then we'd have a day in between for traveling. So we went with 12/17...

Then, we realized that's actually a very big date in our culture, it's the day of a saint Cuban's hold lots of faith in- so we took the coincidence as a blessing.

We wanted ours to be one year away (December 2nd) but we also want to do it in vegas. Since its still cold in vegas in December it defeats the purpose of having it in vegas so we went up a few months to march when the weather wont be cold.itll be warm, and not super hot like the summer....now when we go to vegas next week to book a venue we'll see who has something around that time, even if not the exact day or week or maybe even the month we know a time frame we want it in

We picked based on the venue and also we knew we wanted to go on a cruise for the honeymoon so we looked at dates of cruises in that time frame also. Wedding on the Saturday head to Nola Sunday leave for the cruise on Monday . Can't wait.

Picked ours based on 2 things. We are married civilly on 5/20/10. Wanted to stay in May but due to how chilly it is at our venue we moved it to June. Then we decided on 6/10/17 since we got married in 2010.

We really wanted a winter wedding, but California weather is so wishy washy in the early months of the year. November and December were out because of the holidays. So we ended up in October. Our anniversary is 11/13. So we decided on the 13th of October.

Bride wars made me want June. I always wanted it in the summer. It's in between college semesters and its when we both finish our associates and transfer to AU. Not to mention it's exactly 5 1/2 years since we started dating.

Thanks for all your advice! Did anyone consult any master to get auspicious dates?
