I need some reassurance everything is going to be okay! Who’s still planning for the wedding of their dreams ! I need to know I’m not alone walking into such a big unknown !! My fiancé thinks everything will be fine and I was hopeful too but then today my mom started in on the “ maybe y’all need to consider rescheduling “ and “ you might just not have the wedding of your dreams” which is extremely heart breaking to hear from your mom who is supposed to have your back and make you feel better. I know it’s bratty but you only get married once (hopefully) and we want it our way!!

I moved from August to June 2021... Getting married on the date we chose in September. Actual dress, real photos, etc... Party of 5.

I just know I would feel sooo disappointed if I cancel now and turns out everything’s fine in August and I could have had a wedding. So I’m holding out until the last minute. Also I’m in Texas and they just announced weddings are allowed at 25% capacity right now for indoor weddings and there’s no restrictions for outdoor weddings. So worse case. We move our reception outside it will be hot but worth it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I totally understand! Honestly I would be SO happy with 25% capacity at this point. That would allow us 75 people. I agree that it would just be an awful feeling to postpone and then realize it could have been okay. Holding out hope along with you!

Our venue holds almost 500 and we have a 200 guest count so even 50% would be good news

August 1 here! I am planning as normal and about to send out invites (we did add a little card to let people know we are monitoring the situation). I am in Iowa and things are starting to open up slowly, so I think all should be okay here. I would even be okay with 50% allowed -- I just don't want to have to reschedule, find a new date and wait even longer! We are just hitting the home stretch! I did have to move my first dress fitting back and move my bridal shower to July instead of May (this is in IL where I am from)!

I hope everything works out for you Smiley smile

We just made the decision to postpone our 8/8/20 wedding in Seattle to the following August. We are already legally married and we did not want to risk our friends and families being guinea pigs (50% of guests are traveling from out of town) during this summer’s reopening. While this is not ideal by any means, all of our vendors were still available for the following summer and we ultimately feel relieved. We want the day to be about love & joy, not angst and social distancing. Hoping by next year we have much better hold on everything. Good luck to all you beautiful brides and please stay healthy & safe!

Wanted to follow up since I commented on this previously. We’ve made the decision to postpone our 8/23/20 wedding to August 2021. There were so many factors from older family members, my myself being higher risk, asymptotic carrying, travel....so for peace of mind and the safety of our guests and ourselves, we went ahead and decided to postpone!
