Curious to know what brides are doing for their weddings that are taking place in August. Particularly brides is metropolitan areas with larger weddings. I'm in Maryland, in the DC suburbs and we have a guest list of 200. So far my venue thinks they can host our wedding by August 29th but everything...

What is everyone else hearing from their venues?

Congrats to you too! Yes I’m having a shower on 6/28. We’re having it at a park Pavilion so there’s plenty of space to spread out. The foods going to be kinda lame, but it has to be prepackaged. I think were gonna do wrapped sandwiches, small chips bags, etc.

We just found out the rules in VA for phase 2 are 50% capacity or 50 people, whichever is less. So as of now we would only be able to have 50 people, unless we go to phase 3. But they haven’t announced the capacity limits for phase 3 yet either.

Hey! So I'm in Maryland and we are also in Phase 2 but are still not allowed to have gatherings of more than 10. But I did find plans for Phase 3 which might give you an idea of what Virginia might do since our Governors have been working together. It says, "limited to a maximum consistent state guidelines, 1 person/family unit per 100 sq. ft., whichever is lower." So although it doesn't give a number it is something. Our Phase 2 in Maryland also is supposed to be 50, but the Governor hasn't lifted that restriction yet. He made it clear that it is still 10 and he knows people aren't following it but it is still in place.

    Best of luck!

I'm in PG county as well but getting married in Solomons. We are keeping our original date and plan. Before covid hit, we had already decided to have only 7 people total so luckily we are able to keep our wedding plans.
