August 24th Brides..

Danielle, on April 17, 2013 at 3:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I notice that there is a lot of us!

Where are you all at with your planning? I have already sent out my invites (as of Monday) and am excited for he RSVP's to start rolling in. We did not send STD's and people started to ask me when the wedding date was as they were planning end of summer vacations so.. decided to get those invites out early!

Other than that - working on quite a bit of DIY decorations... need to finish favors, had my first alteration appt last week (and going again this Saturday).. I think thats about it on my list of things to do right now Smiley smile

    Wow Invites out already! I won't be sending mine until the last week of June. I finished my flip flop bucket this week along with the guys bathroom basket. I have everything but the basket itself for the girls one. I'm slowing working down the list of DIYs. I'll have my (second) 1st alterations appointment next week (long story short wrong size got ordered the 1st time).

    My other big task this month is all things ceremony. We are writing our own ceremony so that's taking some time and for some reason music choices are really hard!

    I agree with Shannon! Wow on sending invites already! Mine are going out on June 17th. I sent save the dates back in Jan though. I've gotten a lot of things done. Just kind of cruising until the wedding...

    @Shannon - Yes... I know - so early!

    Oh you reminded me of something else I need to do .... pick songs! I still am having such a hard time choosing the ceremony music. I am hoping that the music will be something that "comes" to me instead of having to think about it for hours on end.

    What kind of DIY projects are you working on?

    Well the flip flop bucket and bathroom baskets are DIY. I'm also doing lawn games and signs for those. Pinwheels to line the ceremony aisle. Our guest book we did a photobook but I finished that months ago. I'm sure there are a few more but those are the ones I'm focused on right now.

    A few of the song selections did just come to me....in the car listening to the radio and thinking wow I love this song for wedding. So it is possible but for others I've sought them out more.

    Danielle, if you prefer instrumental music for the ceremony, we found some great songs by Vitamin String Quartet and The Piano Guys.

    Thank you Mrs. P - our issue is that we hired a local singer/acoustic guitar player and he can only play from his set list. There's many songs to pick from... just having a hard time deciding!

    Mrs. P- We are using Vitamin String Quartet.

    Danielle- My mom is actually singing and playing "When you say Nothing at All" on the guitar (Allison Krauss). It's a really beautiful song and might be on your set list.
