Attire for the mother of the Bride and Groom

I just started discussing attire for what the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom would wear. My color pallette for the wedding is gray with accents of peach. I thought a blue toned dress for both mothers would be a nice addition and wouldn't make them stand out with the wedding colors. However, my mother would like to choose her own dress color that's not blue, as she believes it does not suit her, but would preferably wear something pastel. I would like her in the blue as its a good color and would not mind at all if it was pastel. However, if it is a color other than blue I'm a bit apprehensive about what other color would be chosen. Am I wrong to want to choose her dress color? Am I wrong to feel apprehensive about a different color? Does it sound like I'm being too controlling?

Then I think any pastel she chooses would be fine. But really it doesn't matter if they compliment each other

Also my mom went shopping recently and sent me a few options that she found, she asked if they complimented the bridesmaids color (as she'll be in family pics with my sister and cousin who are bridesmaids). One was almost identical to bridesmaids so I vetoed that one (color not style) but the other two were great options. She was able to find one that complimented, looked good for her figure and her skin/hair tones, and she felt comfortable in. Maybe you can give your mom a swatch of to take shopping with her and she can send you a few options or go with her and see them! Seems like a fair compromise?
