My FH will be wearing his after the ceremony. He did mention wearing it before then, like the day we got our marriage license. But we decided to just wait. It's so close for us now!!
Traditionally, women get their engagement rings when they get proposed to and then the couple both put on their wedding bands at the ceremony. Some modern men start wearing them after they get engaged though.
We made it 2 days of being engaged before my fiance was asking when he was getting a ring so he could wear it!
Luckily, I'd guessed he would want to (despite our previous conversations where he said he wouldn't), so I had bought him a relatively inexpensive, but still nice looking, ring as an "engagement ring". He was so surprised and excited, and he wears it all the time.
Just my own personal opinion, but I really don't like when men wear rings before they're married. I'm not really sure why but it's always just annoyed me lol but again, that's personal preference.
My FH requested that he have an engagement ring too, so I purchased one for him. He wears his 24/7. Once we're married, he'll wear his wedding band on his left and plans on wearing his engagement ring on a chain around his neck.
As soon as we got our rings, he put his on. He hardly takes it off now. I tried to put my band on as well...yeah, it's put away. I don't like the feeling of it.
My FH got us matching promise rings about a year before we got engaged, and he still hasn't stopped wearing his. So not technically an engagement ring or wedding band or anything because he's definitely getting something different for our marriage, but he likes to continue to wear his ring because it symbolizes our commitment to each other, even though we aren't married yet. Though I think typically men wear their rings after the ceremony.
Mine will be wearing his after the ceremony, as it's a wedding ring, not an engagement ring.
BUT! having said that, we have plenty of friends who started wearing their rings before the wedding. I think it really is personal choice and what YOU two want to do.
My fiance' and I are wearing our bands as bought as engagement rings.
We will be using the same rings for the wedding, but prior to the wedding, we will have them engraved inside with the wedding date and the other's name.
Whatever you prefer will be tooootally fine. My FH still wears his promise ring from AGES ago that we exchanged. But the wedding band will be after the ceremony.
