At-home Reception Save the Dates?

Erica, on October 23, 2018 at 10:29 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
Hey all!
We are having an extremely small ceremony (immediate family only) in NYC and are hosting a reception back home a week later in Texas for our friends and family. We are doing a small blessing at the reception to involve those who aren't with us day of ceremony, and then carrying on with normal reception festivities. What are yalls opinions on save the dates for the reception? Is it rude to send them since they will not be attending an actual wedding, or is it still proper to give our guests the timely heads up? Thank you for your help!

I would still send them, it's great to give people a heads up especially if you have out of town guests.

Hi Erica! I agree with FutureMrsD too. I would also still send save the dates, as they are an appreciated, timely, heads-up for your guests. Smiley heart I don't think it's rude at all and I think it's a great idea how you're doing a small, intimate, family NYC ceremony and a reception for everyone, back home, afterwards.

I would for sure still send them so people can reserve the date for the reception.

I agree. You can send a save the date for any occasion, so this would just be a save the date for the reception.
