Assigned tables vs assigned seats

Assign seating was the hardest but in the end turned out great! All the guest liked their place card too.

I'm just doing tables. The guest can select their own seats

I read a poll that said most people prefer assigned seats, not tables, but it sounds like way too much work for me haha. If you have the time/are doing plated entrees, go for seats. If not, tables.

I don't really see the use of assigned seats (maybe someone can enlighten me?). I plan on doing assigned tables.

I didn't know actual, literal seats were assigned before. I've only ever seen assigned tables.

All the weddings I've been to had assigned tables, not seats. I think if you're doing long banquet tables, then seat assignments might be appreciated, otherwise just a table is fine IMO.

I'm just assigning tables, but I have a smaller group. I'm not sure what would work best for a large group.

Assigned tables. Don't go through all that work. I went to a wedding where assigned seating was arranged for us at the table - we all laughed and sat where WE wanted to, but at that table. Do not stress out over this. Table assignments will work great.

I did assigned seats. There was some family issues and some drama w some friends so we wanted to keep peace. At our wedding everyone people enjoyed having those seats, the venue had a map of guest/food, and (as far as I know) no issues. Also, our wedding was relatively small (55 guest), so it was easier than for a big wedding.

Assign seats if you're having a plated meal and servers need to know who gets what meal.

Otherwise, assign tables.

We are just assigning tables. I don't want to start stressing out on where to put people. Plus ours is a buffet so I don't see the point of assigned seats unless its a plated dinner.

Assigned seats are annoying. I went to a wedding that had them and we all just sat where we wanted at our table. Just assign the tables. There are plenty of ways to figure out which meal without making guests sit in a specific seat.

I'm assigning seats bc we are having a plated dinner. Each spot will have an escort card with there name and a small dot on the back differentiating what meal each person gets. If people move I don't care. Waiters will figure it out.
