Asking vendors about date changes?

on June 6, 2019 at 11:01 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11
I’ve posted about this, but my reception venue burnt down on Monday! My wedding was supposed to be on 12/14/19. Many places I’ve contacted don’t have that specific date available (luckily some due) but they have the 13th or other dates open. Would it be rude or annoying to ask vendors what days work for them? I just don’t want to lose my deposits or my vendors!

I don't think it's rude to, they'd likely want to be able to work with you too. It doesn't hurt to ask Smiley smile

Not at all! They’ll want to work with you and the most efficient way is to actually ask them and explain what happened. Them giving you their open dates would make the process easier than emailing them a bunch of time asking them for individual days.

Was your venue Allure on the Lake by chance?
I don't think it'd be rude or annoying at all. I'm sure if you explain the situation they'll be happy to help if they can.

Just make sure you mention that the venue burnt down. Some of my contracts have a fee for switching dates. I think most places will try to be more accommodating for you because of the situation. Just be sure to mention it tho.

My original venue stated they were closing. I contacted all of my vendors and they all had no issue changing the date and were very accommodating. As long as they don’t have anything else booked it shouldn’t be a problem. Good luck!!

Oh my goodness. This makes me so sad. I am sorry to hear about your venue burning down. I think it is completely fine to ask your vendors about changing dates. If you explain what happened, I would hope they would try to work with you. This situation is completely out of your hands! Good luck!

Im so sorry! That was one of the venues we looked at before deciding on a destination wedding and I still can't believe it's gone 😢 I have seen, though, that they have a lot of support in the area so that should help while you shuffle things around.
