Asking people not to take photos or videos at your wedding

Has anyone done that and had success? Has anyone had people do it regardless of you asking not to. No photos/videos of you, partner, BP, venue, set ups, decor, ceremony, events etc Of course people want selfies and such with a pretty outfit or nice scenery. But anything beyond that is a no go. ...

Our ceremony is unplugged, and I'm going to gift our photog ninja stars so she can cut whatever dumb aunt tries to step in front of her to take a damn photo.

@nela it's like are they there to hang out on their phones or share your day with you? Pics or not... lol

Once upon a time no one even thought to drag their 35mm cameras to a formal wedding at take their own pics. Guests taking pics with cameras on the table was a way to save money instead of a pro. If they cant have a good time with out their phone... then I imagine I would be fine if my guest left. Sitting in a chair alone not doing anything on their phone or left the wedding, what's the difference?

You don't get to control whether or not adults "share your day with you." You invite them. That's all you can do. You don't get to control them for 6 hours. Also, not sure where you got that people didn't used to take photos. Those disposable cameras were at every wedding I went to as a child and not because people cheaped out on hiring a pro but because couples WANTED guests to take photos at the reception.
