Asking my Long Distance Bridesmaids

Victoria and Ralph, on April 1, 2014 at 9:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

So I have two bridesmaids that I still need to ask to be in my wedding. The problem is that I live in Florida, one lives in New Jersey, and the other lives in California. I was able to ask my other bridesmaids all in person, but there's a good chance I won't see either of these girls until at least mid May.

Any suggestions of how to ask them to be bridesmaids?

You could send them a care package or flowers, with the note "will you be my bridesmaid?" inside.

In a way, I think it's almost better to do it via mail. It lets them really take the time to decide if they want to be in the wedding, instead of being put on the spot.

If you want it to be more personable, can you Skype? If not, I would sent them a cute card. Etsy has some super cute will you be my bridesmaid cards. I asked my girls by giving them a ring pop in a box.

I have two local bridesmaids and three out-of-state bridesmaids. I sent them a cute handmade card based on one I found on Etsy asking them.. it said, "Just a little note to say Nicole, will you be my Bridesmaid on my wedding day?" They were surprised and called me and were so excited to be included!

I saw these little cards on etsy about $2.50 each that read "i found my man but i still need my girls" I loved it and i think I'll use them for my out of town BM.

Why not just wait until you can see them? Your wedding is still almost a year away. You don't need to tell them right this second, right? I have long distance bridesmaids and I just asked all of them over the phone.

All five of my BMs are long distance. I wrote them a heartfelt letter and enclosed some of my favorite pictures of us. They all seemed to love it.

I have two that are long distance, I asked my sister via FaceTime and my other bridesmaid in person with a cute box full of goodies. For my long distance girls I made a cute card asking them “something borrowed something new, something old something blue but most importantly I’m going to need you. Nikki will you be my bridesmaid?” I’m also going to write a letter and put some favorite pictures in with the package.
