Asking my dad to walk me down the aisle...

Are there any pictures of him holding your hand while you're walking when you were little? Maybe you could frame that for him, and say something like "you walked me then" etc etc.

Lynzey thats what I thought!! Hahaha we are very close and I had always assumed. But when I heard that my mom had said that I feel like I need to do something special..hahaha

I think it's sweet if you formally ask him. I don't have a creative bone in my body to help you out with an idea.

I like @Lynzey's idea (surprise, surprise), but also agree that it seems like it should've been assumed. I asked my dad what he thought about me formally asking him (another bride brought it up in a post a few weeks ago), and he just looked at me like I was crazy. He assumed he was and figured I felt the same - it's kind of a "duhhh..." kinda thing

It was an assumed thing with us. One of the first things my dad said after I got engaged was "Man, guess I gotta get in shape so I can look good!"

But, it's really cute to ask too I think!

How about taking him to lunch or dinner just the two of you. Set aside an hour or so just for the two of u maybe a small gift such as the framed photo of him holding ur hand and walking you when u were small like someone had suggested. Good luck with whatever u decide to do. I know it'll be special

My dad was a little upset, too. As soon as I asked him, everything smoothed over.

It was a really touching moment for us. =)
