Asking bridesmaids to be part of the big day

I picked mine out within the first week of being engaged. I didn't do anything special for anyone other than my maid of honor, but she's 8 yrs old.

I told my bridesmaids and moh 6 months after getting engaged. I was just so excited I couldn't wait. I gave them all a little goody bag I made up from stuff from the dollar store. I know I know it's best to ask a year in advance because if anything changes its not like youd be replacing anyone or making someone feel like a second choice. But I just couldn't wait any longer. I asked them a year and 6 months in advance.
