As a wedding GUEST are there things that you really do not care about or notice much?

I have been to a lot of weddings and I remember the ceremonies the most. After that, it is all kind of a blur in regards to details. For example, out of 7 or 8 weddings I only remember two centerpiece designs. I honestly cannot recall if/what appetizers were at any of them. Only some had favors, only one had a treat other than cake.

Do you as a guest really *remember* the centerpieces, the decor, whether or not you get a favor, the cake, etc.? Like, I think having a photo booth is nice - but do guests really remember this? Will anyone care if we provide a favor or not? What are some things that you really do not pay any attention to at a wedding?

Love this post, and reading everyone's answers! Very interesting.

I think I remember different things from every wedding- maybe it is what stands out? First wedding I ever went to was a dry wedding, but I remember we all still danced so much, and the bride made these really cute purple chocolate hearts on sticks as favours. I have no idea why but I still remember that lol.

At another wedding, I remember how amazing the risotto was, and how much wine was around, wine everywhere! We had a blast that night and stayed til almost everyone was gone haha.

The wedding that stands out most to me was because the bride (my friend) looked just SO stunningly happy and beautiful, and the groom (who is normally very shy) gave the most amazing vows and just wowed everyone. I cried. They also had a photo booth, candy bar, and the food was delicious!

And yes, I do remember whether the DJ at every wedding was good or not lol... really makes or breaks the night.

I love this post! I only been to 3 weddings in my 27 years...

The 1st wedding I was 9 or 10 yrs old I was a flower girl. I only remember this wedding because when the pastor asked the groom do he take her to be his lawful wedded wife he said NO! So they NEVER got married.

The 2nd wedding I don't remember anything other than it was my aunt's wedding.

The 3rd wedding was my cousin's wedding which was in 2012 and the only thing I remember was how nasty the food was. I don't remember none of the decor, the cake...hell I don't really remember nothing

What I remember about my cousins wedding (a month ago): her ceremony was unbelievably stuffy, and her reception was crowded and loud. The dance floor was to small, and the centerpieces were to grand. The whole affair was very very formal and very much not my style.

I always remember the ceremony. I love the ceremony. I love the heartfelt expressions on the bride and groom and the smiles and tears of everyone else. I always cry lol. I love the way the groom looks at the bride when she enters!

I also remember the food and if I had a good time or not. I live in South Carolina and our weddings are normally casual. I went to my FH's cousin's wedding in NJ last October and I'll always remember that because it was such a lavish and extravagant affair; sooo different than the half a dozen weddings of friends I've been to at home In the last few years. It was my first formal wedding with a plated dinner, escort cards, very fancy cocktail hour, and open bar. It was a fun experience. People got tanked, though! And it went on so long! We left after 11 and people were still partying hard.

I do remember photobooths because I love pictures of myself with friends, always have! Lol!

I don't remember parent dances or speeches. Neither interest me no matter how well I know the person/couple.

What do I remember... If I had fun or not. But that's about it.

Other than that I don't remember any particular unless it was really bad. I was at a wedding where the food gave my fiancé food poisoning (definitely remember that one), and one where the dj was ABSOLUTELY terrible (he created a line dance to moves like jagger, and it was just awkward).

Other than that, definitely don't remember invitations, programs, favors, what the cake looked/tasted like, what I ate (I'm attending a wedding next week, and it's at a venue I have already been to. I was trying to recall what I ate last time and if I liked it and for the life of me I can't remember), any decor... And so on.

I personally am a stickler for details and pay close attention to everything. The things that stick with me are decor, food, timing, and whether I sat around bored or not.

I haven't really paid much attention to the details of weddings I've been to up until recently. I went to a wedding last night and paid attention to every last detail but only because I'm in the process of planning mine. Otherwise I wouldn't have noticed much apart from the food and how beautiful the bride looked! It helps me to worry less about details for mine!

I think the only thing I remember clearly is the venue. Lol.

The last wedding I went to, I remembered the centerpieces and some of the details because I was comparing them t what I wanted (loved some of it, other parts were not for me, but looked great).

One wedding I went to, all I remember was the finger food and the officiant joking that I was in his way (I was also probably 12 at the time).

I was in my sister's wedding, I remember the favors (partly because we had so many left over), the food, and the music.

Haha, just about everyone said they don't miss the details, ie. centerpieces, flowers, decorations, etc... but if you went to a wedding that was literally bare bones and they didn't have ANY of these things, you would notice....haha

I remember funny things, but not particulars. I remember if they were nice, if the food was good, if the bridesmaids almost jumped the brides cousin for standing in front of the photographer when he was trying to take pics, or the bride got drunk and took her shoes off and stuffed her dress into her underwear to dance...lmao! Those were funny weddings. I don't remember the favors or the cake or anything else though
