Sorry here it is copy and pasted for those that can't access the siteSmiley surpriseMAHA, Neb. -- When Rozalind Pietrantoni-Elliott, 23, became engaged, there was no question of what type of wedding she wanted.

“I always wanted a really big, I mean over the top ordeal,” said Pietrantoni-Elliott.

After their August engagement, the bride and her fiance, Joseph Elliott, immediately started planning a spare-no-expense wedding at Omaha’s Joslyn Castle.

Their plans changed in early December.

“My grandma got really sick,” said Pietrantoni-Elliott. “She had a minor heart attack and went to the hospital. It was really scary. They brought in the chaplain one day and we thought, this is it.”

For Pietrantoni-Elliott, the first grandchild and only granddaughter, the news was devastating.

“I was going up to visit her every day,” said Pietrantoni-Elliott.

“I'd come home and vent to Joe. Then, Joe and I were sitting there talking one night, and he actually said, what do you think about getting married in front of your grandma?”

Elliott explained his offer to KETV.

“That fairy tale stuff, sure, it'd be nice, you know,” said Elliott. “That really doesn't matter to me. Being happy is what means more to me.”

The couple discussed the idea over a weekend and by Monday, told the bride’s father. “I was pretty moved,” said Frank Pietrantoni. “They made a huge sacrifice for my Mom to be there. It really touched me.”

The couple’s wedding date of August 18, 2012, was moved up to December 21, 2010. The bride got her dress altered, bought flowers and wedding rings and lined up a judge in one day before going to work.

The couple planned their wedding at a new site: the bride’s grandmother’s nursing home. Pietrantoni-Elliott got ready with her grandmother, who turned 90 the day before the wedding.

“Just me getting ready in front of her, make up and everything, I'd ask her, 'does this look OK?'” said Pietrantoni-Elliott. “She’d say, 'Yes, honey, you look beautiful.'”

The couple read their vows in the nursing home’s reception area.

“I was in a nursing home until I walked in that room,” said Pietrantoni-Elliott. “I walked in, saw Joe and my family, and it didn't occur to me where I was at, what building I was in.”

Pietrantoni-Elliott told KETV she specifically recalls seeing her grandmother. “I remember her sitting there, just glowing, happy. So I had to give her a kiss before I walked up there," Pietrantoni-Elliott said.

The couple described their day as perfect and said they have no regrets.

“We can do something later on,” said Pietrantoni-Elliott. “Renewing our vows, an anniversary. Time isn't our issue. There's plenty of time for that.”

Very sweet and memorable. I was devestated when my grandma passed 2 weeks before our wedding. We had to plan if she was/wasn't able to leave the hospital. In the end, I knew that she was in a better place with grandpa and auntie. I would of loved for her ot be there physically. But I know they had the best seats in the house. And of course I knew they were there with us. How else to you explain thunder and lightning RIGHT before we started (get guets to sit down) and then during the vows (making sure DH wasn't backing out!) and a little sprinkle at the end of photos.
