Arm/back workout suggestions for strapless dress

So I just tried my dress on again tonight to see if any of my work at the gym has paid off... Well it hasn't. My biggest concern is my arms/back otherwise I thought I was fine but then my mom and grandmother were going on about how I need to lose some in my stomach/hip area too or get spanks in...

So I just tried my dress on again tonight to see if any of my work at the gym has paid off... Well it hasn't. My biggest concern is my arms/back otherwise I thought I was fine but then my mom and grandmother were going on about how I need to lose some in my stomach/hip area too or get spanks in addition to the corset! I still love my dress but with all the not so great feed back they gave me I feel super self conscious. My wedding isn't still September so I have plenty of time to work on those problem areas. Any suggestions of specific work outs to help these areas? I go to a crunch gym and attend classes if anyone has class suggestions too that would be awesome (I do bosu and chisel now).

Posted pictures to help you see what I'm talking about with the arms.... I think the stomach/hip area is fine but I posted a picture of that too.

You look great! They're being ridiculous, honestly. The underarm and back fluff you're having issues with isnt a 'i need to work out' problem - its a dress fitting problem caused by not properly lacing/adjusting your corset and adjusting into your bra cups after putting everything on.

This video explains how to lace up your corset to minimize back fluff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lyV3pUbgVE

And then this is the "scoop and swoop" method for putting on your bra that will take care of any extra tissue that is migrating under the arms (semi NSFW): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=it29EzYo24w

Oh yeah I didn't even think about the fit and the scoop and swoop! Totally necessary.

Also, they're crazy about the hips and stomach thing. I just saw that part. I think you look great in that area

Looking at the pictures of the dress I would talk to a seamstress. It looks like it's pushing you up and all kinds of uncomfortable. They can add a band internally so it holds you in rather than have it sooo tight along the top like that.

I really think a good seamstress can fix what your stressing about :3

What kind of weights are you working with? Bodybuilding.com has some great exercises that you can do with dumbbells, kettleballs, and bar bells if you don't have machine access.

I don't know what they see in the midsection, I think it looks lovely.

Insanity workout with Shaun T is a killer workout and will help you shed the extra pounds.

Ok well first of all you're not fat. 2nd of all more spanx under the corset wouldn't help the back and arm bulge which are there only because it's a corset and tight Anyway. Dumbbells, push ups, and cardio will shed excess weight and help tone any areas you don't like. Key word: YOU

To me it looks like it's riding up a bit at your waist which would have it too tight at your hips. I had the same issue in my dress and they let it out just a smidge and it solved the problem. Basically if you are hourglass at all that can be an issue. I have that problem a lot in fitted gowns as I'm pretty small but my waist is 10'' smaller than my hips so nothing ever fits just as is from the store unless it's stretchy.

    Thank you all!!!

@Gia that's why I like the classes at my gym because they are small and the trainers can give feedback but I think I'm going to look into a few individual

Everyone who suggested a workout video or website I will look them all up! Thanks!

@Niki N I want to work out to feel more comfortable but thank you for this info I'll show watch it with my MOH!!! I didn't do any of what your saying when input it on! I'm trying it on again in a few weeks when I do my trail so I can get the whole effect so I will do the scoop and swoop and the lacing!

2d bride idk if sleeves would look good on this dress... Idk I'm bad at envisioning things!!

I'm wondering it it's fitting weird in all areas because like @Niki N said I didn't have it on properly ( we did just put it on quick)! Test this theory in a few weeks in the mean time going to do all the work outs and things you ladies suggested! Thanks so much!!!

It looks to me like your dress simply doesn't fit. It looks too small. I'm not a small person, I definitely have some extra fluff. For comparison, here's the back of my dress. Your skin shouldn't be forced out of the top like that.

And here is the front. I think if you let it out a bit, you won't see the skin fold near the arm pit.

Yes I think my problem was not putting it on properly it was the first time I put it on since taking it home and not having the professionals at the store helping me and like I said earlier we rushed! I also think the corset underneath might be the wrong size...it fits my cup but I feel like it's a little tight everywhere else. I'm trying to avoid alterations so I'm going to take the suggestions people gave me as far as working out as well as was Nikki N said about proper techniques to put it on! However, if I'm still having the issues when we get closer I will go to a local seamstress we have that one of my BM swears by! Would 3 months prior be enough time for alterations or do you suggest going earlier?
