Are you wearing white OR Ivory??

My dress is ivory but it looks white to me. And if I wanted to wear white I would, even if I'm obviously not a virgin lol (me and FH have a 5 month old together)

Ivory - goes really well with the type of lace in my dress.

i was always adamant that i wanted the big white gown --- then i put pure white against my skin tone and it was a total washout.....looked bad.....so i went ivory because it complimented me the best....dont listen to her.....or anyone else for that matter.....listen to yourself and what your heart told you about the dress....

Um she is hating! I have a child who was in my wedding and I still wore white!!! LOL

Umm did she pay for your dress? If not, she can move around with that foolishness. Wear the color you want. My dress is ivory because I think the color compliments my complexion.

I am wearing soft white.. I'm not a huge fan of ivory and bright white makes my skin look terrible!

Most brides aren't virgins nowadays... but really, it's none of anyone's business! Honestly, I don't see the difference between white and ivory in terms of the message it sends. Many dresses are ivory, or not white and it doesn't mean anything. The tradition of wearing white (or its various shades) is relatively new anyways.

I'm wearing ivory but that's just because I found a dress that happens to be ivory. Honestly, I didn't even know what it was until FH pointed out that it said ivory on the receipt, months later. To me, it's all just shades of white anyways.

I am wearing white as well. I have 2 kids and am 40. None of my guests would ever think I am a virgin but white is what looked best for me so I am wearing white. As others have said, it sounds to me like your friend really is just "hating" and you should tell her that white is the color you are wearing. To use the old expression, you can tell her "If you don't like, don't look!"

I'm wearing ivory but that's because it's how my dress came. If it came in white I would be wearing white.

1) Ivory is ALSO hard to keep clean. It's not like you're trying to decide between white and dark brown or something.

2) Most people will not even be able to tell that your dress is not the purest of white.

3) The white wedding dress tradition is entirely unrelated to virginity.

4) White and ivory are not the only two colors you can wear to your wedding.

Mine is Ivory. I had the option of ordering the dress in white, ivory or champagne. However, they only had ivory in the sample and i liked it as is so i didnt want to order something i wasnt able to try on. It looked good when i put it on so thats what i stayed with. now, you got me wondering how my dress in white would have looked on me! lol

I rocked a stark white dress. Yes, it was filthy by the end of the night-who cares-I didn't. White is for virgins, if that were true, white would be as hard to find as a green wedding dress

I'm wearing white. Mostly because I'm wearing my mom's veil, which is white, and I wanted them to match.

I'm wearing white, and I have two kids. I can care least I am wearing white, because to my FH it's both of our first marriage and not only that, he said he wants me in white.

It sounds like your friend is super old school. My dress is ivory and seeing Ariel's post, I don't even know what color my veil is.. guess I should check that they match.
