Are you going with 1 or 2 photographers?

I'm sure 2 photographers would be better but just curious since some places charge $500 or more just for a second photographer! Does anyone think 2 photographers are necessary or would 1 be just fine? Hoping to find more vendors next month and get that out of the way! I know theres time but one less...

Talk to photographers about their packages, and also their flexibility to customize packages. Mine offers a "second shooter" for a more limited time window, and her standard package was for six hours. I wanted to shooters for getting ready separately, and then for the ceremony where I thought it would make it easier to capture shots of both of us when I walk down the aisle. She let me shorten the standard window for a discount, and I will have good coverage at the most not-to-miss times so I felt good about it!

Our package came with the main photographer for the entire day and a second photographer for 5 hours.

We spoke with a photographer about this and because we only have one location Ceremony/Reception/Getting ready etc and because FH doesnt really want any getting ready photos besides maybe one of his mom pinning on his boutonniere or something, the photographer we spoke with helped us decide we only need one photographer. I suggest when you are interviewing your photographer/photography companies you go over the general idea of what you want with them and how your day will work - if both you and your FH want getting ready photos - if you have to get ready in different locations - how your venue is set up - will there be traveling for professional photos ETC. Going over these types of things will help you determine if you need two photographeror a photographer and just an assistant or if you only need one.

We had 2 shooters. Photography was the most important vendor to me!

One. But with our low-key ceremony and at-home first look, we don't really need another. She usually works alone, and her portfolio was still awesome, so I'm good with it!

One photographer. If they are good at their job they shouldn't have a problem catching all the shots

Totally worth it! If I had not had 2 photographers, it would have been impossible for them to capture both of our faces during the vows. Also, while we did our portraits, the 2nd photographer went and took photos of the guests at the cocktail hour and the reception venue. This would not have been possible with only one photographer. Maybe you could negotiate to have the main photographer for a full day and the 2nd photographer for the ceremony only?

Our DJ also does photography and gave us a shot list to look over. This helped us determine what looks we wanted and also helped determine how many hours were needed. From there, we decided to do 3 photographers. One who will do our "first looks" and two to capture during the ceremony, after the ceremony, and reception.

We only had one, our photographer said this would be fine since our guest list was under 80 people and we had a small wedding party. I felt like she got all the shots I wanted, she did a great job, and I had no regrets having only one photographer.

We hired one photographer only. Her contract stipulated that she "MAY" bring an intern with her - not required, but possible. If so, we do not pay extra for the 2nd photographer. We have a very small wedding (under 100)

We are going with a company that automatically include two photographers with their wedding photography package.

I think a second photographer can add special moments that one may not be able to catch. Being able to have one photographer getting pictures of the guys while they are getting ready and another of the girls, or whatever the case may be

We are having 2 photographers for the price of one. Our main photographer stays auth us the entire time and his wife is only there for like 5 hrs.

I got the second photographer. Pics are super important to me so it was a good splurge to get two. I have about 175 guests. During the reception, one will follow me and FH around and get pics of us. And one will be with the guests getting pics of the other stuff going on. I opted for the second photographer instead of a videographer.

We will have 2. Ours is a husband and wife team, and all of their wedding packages include both of them for the wedding day.

I'm having 2 photographers! It costs a lot more but I want as much as possible captured and the pictures I've look at with 2 photographers compared to 1 are far superior
