Are we too old???

Cheryl&rock, on July 26, 2018 at 10:05 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 41
I'm 67 and my FH is 60. Am I being foolish for having a wedding with the venue and all?

I'm really starting to think as to why go to all the expenses when we're not young like most of you with a long future ahead of you.

I never had my dream wedding. This is what he wants me to have, but is it stupid to do?

Please tell me your thoughts!!!

Do it how you want it. If you want that dream wedding then go for it!!! There’s no shame in it. Age is just a number. Be wise with cost but don’t think you have to settle for a courthouse wedding or whatever it is that you don’t want. Have that special day and enjoy it.

I was married when I was 56, and we had all the trappings. The only question is whether you want the dream wedding, or is it just him? And if you do, is that something you're in a financial position to afford, without jeopardizing your retirement? If the answers to both of those questions is yes, then have at it!

Go for it. I’ll be 48 and my FH will be 60 when we get married and I thought I just wanted something small in the backyard but now that I have started planning my thoughts have changed a little. I know his kids think I am crazy for wanting something bigger but I don’t care it’s my day and he said for me to do whatever I want . So plan that wedding at a venue and have everything you want!!!

Thank all of you so much!! I'm in tears! I love him so much. I have pictured looking up at him, he's 6'4" and I'm 5'2", and saying my vows! Each time I picture this I'm in a wedding dress. Our love makes me pinch myself! I never thought this would happen to me!
Thank you so very much for easing my mind!!Smiley cake

No one is ever too old to have their dream wedding! As pp have said, as long as it is within your budget, then go for it. Especially since it sounds like your FH is in full support.

We're making monthly payments for the venue, or I should say he is. I bought my dress, but then started to have these worries about acting like an old fool.
My oldest daughter is making our cake. My sister is making all the centerpieces and bouquet's, and men's items.
My attendants are my sister MOH, my three granddaughters BM's, my FH's cousin who I love to pieces BM, flower girls are my two great-granddaughters, and my ring bearer is my great-grandson. My son and two daughters are walking me down the aisle.
It will be a dream come true with the people I love most standing with me and taking part in my wedding!
Once again thank you for easing my mind!!
