Are there non-traditional invitation/stationery packaging options available?

Lisa, on December 30, 2019 at 11:23 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6

Hi there!

My fiancé and I are putting together a mini scavenger hunt for our wedding reception guests. We’re hoping to include the first clue/mission in with the invitation and RSVP cards. Depending on what we decide to do, we might need something thicker and more spacious than a standard envelope. Does anyone know of other unique shipping boxes or envelopes that might be available? And/or websites that offer alternatives to envelopes (minted, basicinvite, etc.)? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Magnetstreet.com - they set you up with a designer and you can add questions and write adjustments that you would like to each section of the invitation. It way be a good alternative for you to put a comment for a larger envelope or see if you purchased from them if they have any other options.

I would also be careful though - adding stuff into the envelope is going to add postage which if you have a budget could add a lot more expense than you think. Have you thought about adding clues in the writing or on the website? making something similar to a menu card with clues?

I really have no clue, but if its a thing you can take a picture of, you might be able to send it to whatever online groups you have for the wedding. In addition to regular invites, im inviting everyone on fb in a group as well, so i can post updates specific to the wedding. You could send clues on there, or on your registry, or if you have a text/email group with most guests

Hey there, Lisa! This is a fun idea Smiley smile Will the scavenger hunt be in the lead up to the wedding day or on the day?

To add on to Gabbie’s idea, if you’re having a wedding website, you could post clues on there and just add information to the invitation asking people to check it out!

A site you should check out to see if they have something suitable is envelopes.com. They have a wide variety in lots of colors Smiley smile

Hi! The scavenger hunt will be an optional game to play the day of or the day before. We have a ton (I mean A TON) of guests traveling in from out of town. Because of the way the venues ended up, our ceremony is at 10:30am (family only) and the reception isn't until 4:00pm. We thought we'd give our families something to do during the break or any friends that travel in that morning or the night before.

I think I will utilize the website for sure. I'm still working on the details but I think it can work. And thank you for the tip, I'll check envelopes.com out! Smiley smile
