Hello,

First, let me apologize for any grammatical errors and misspellings in this and previous posts. It seems the WW has a gang of self-appointed spelling police.

Just want to get thoughts on picture slideshows at wedding receptions. I was thinking about doing a slideshow on repeat (rather than synchronized with music). Any suggestions/experience on this topic would be helpful.

Thank you in advance for your replies and suggestions.

Wanna know what's lame? The way you started off this post.

We don't have a slide show exactly, but our venue rotates ourour 3-5 favorite engagement photos on the screen inside the elevator along side the timing of all the events. We are going to have physical prints throughout the venue as well. I have seen some people hang them on with a clothespin in an empty picture frame that looks cute IMO.

We'll be printing and displaying pictures in frames. If you do have a slideshow, I would suggest having it set up on the side so people can watch on their own time.

All my photos I'd have to make a slideshow are already on social media so for that reason I am choosing not to. I will have some framed photos somewhere at our venue, but just a few.

I wanted to do a slideshow in the background and not have a set time when people watch it, but i talked to my dj and he mentioned that slideshows can be fun if someone else puts it together for the bride and groom and people can see their reactions? Not sure if I want to be asking someone to make me a slideshow though so I will most likely go with slideshow in the background..

My friend did one for her destination wedding reception. They played it on a loop and didn't make a big thing of it. It was nice to see some of her wedding pictures and honeymoon pictures, since most people were unable to attend her wedding. Otherwise, I guess I'm indifferent. If it is on a loop and you don't make a big thing about it, it would be fine. People won't miss it if you don't do one Smiley smile

I just attended a wedding where they had a slide show, and while it was cute, they had it playing the entire time and I'm not sure anyone even looked at it after 5 minutes.

I think slideshows are great, but moreso for friends than family. I know what my cousins looked like, they grew up with me. I may not know what my old roommate from college who is still a good friend, looked liked as a kid. Her mom ended up showing me some photos from her as a skinnier 11 year old with thick black hair to her shins when we visited. Fascinating stuff, the way how we all evolve as youth. I would enjoy seeing it if it was novel or someone I cared about.

I saw a Pin recently where the B & G were pictured were as small kids, tacked underneath the washroom gender symbol. Cute in one way, except for the whole bathroom part.
