Are Save the Dates really a must-do? Or is it a reasonable option to skip them? I'm getting married November 2nd and I was planning on just skipping them and getting invites out in July, but my Future MIL about had an aneurysm when I told her we weren't doing Save the Dates. All of our family are from out of town, but the guest list is small (at least my sides is, Future MIL is inviting everyone and their dog on their side even if they haven't talked to them in years). I'm doing a website with information that I plan on emailing out, I just don't see a need in Save the Dates.

Magnets. That's a good idea! I immediately stick every magnet I get to the refrigerator, no matter what it's for. I would definitely remember that STD!

There is absolutely no need for save the dates. Some people need more advance notice than the invitation, and you may call them, email or mail something, to anyone who needs it, without doing formal save the dates. Saves are a very recent invention. And before that, people used phone, email, mail, and lots of us still do

Yup! We always planned too, his mom is just a bit of a control freak and tried to get us to do them when I never even intended too.
