We are getting married in April, it is an outdoor venue, with cabins, hay, ect. I have the mason jars for the drinks, would it be tacky to use paper plates for the meal, they are a great quality of paper plates, square cut white. Same for the dessert table. I'm also more concerned about the hay bale seating than I am the paper plates. Skip the hay, and cut your guest list if you have to to be able to rent chairs for every guest.

And nice nice plastic is better than paper plates in my opinion.

We are using the fancy plastic. I had my heart set on using real plates but even my planner said it is a waste. We are using real napkins and silverware instead. I was in a wedding in September. They used the same plastic plates and it was a fancier wedding. Not one person thought twice about it. I think for your setting real plates would look out of place. But as others have said I'd use plastic.

Honestly, yes I would side-eye paper plates. I would do disposable clear, plastic plates over paper plates. Also please do real silverware so people can actually cut their food!

These are surprisingly nice disposable plates. You have to tap a knife against them to realize they aren't ceramic. The same company makes very nice silver disposable cutlery.

If you have to use disposable plates I'd go with plastic over paper.
