Are painted nails (not French tip) tacky?

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with it but I think keeping it with the colors is a good idea

I would say go worth what makes you feel comfortable . I'm having mine done in the wedding colors.

Personally I do not like the colored tip thing that is apparently all the rage but, I am borderline old and boring according to my kids! HA..... would i do color tips? Nope. would I do colored nails? Most likely not, but it is your day and your choice, do what you want to do not what you think others would prefer.

JC I was considering doing something peacock related too because our colors are peacock blue and teal. But i didn't know if that would be too much.

I think whatever fingernail color is fine. What I think is tacky looking is when the bride paints her toenails electric blue just to have "something blue". It always looks gross.

@GrayCatVintage I totally agree about the toe nail polish. Blue toes are kinda gross.

I don't like the wild or bright colors for wedding nails because in pictures eyes will be drawn to the nails. I sometimes like when brides have a small design done on their ring finger. I think wedding nails should be neutral so not to take away from the bride. I may do silver glitter tips because I have done it before and it is not to flashy. I actually don't like plain white french tips on me because I have small nails and it is to much in my face to me.

I did a nude pink with subtle glitter tips, they were awesome!!

I think more neutral nails are classier, but whatever you like! I do think pink or red nails are better than blue or purple or some super bold color like that!

I think whatever you want to do go ahead and do!

@King I love doing my nails and they are almost always painted so I wanted to get something different for the wedding. I think it adds just enough pizazz without over doing it.

I'm thinking of doing nude or light pink instead of a French tip. In my opinion, a nude color looks better full nail. If you are going to do a color, just do tips. It's less distracting, I think. But that's just me.

I don't typically like colored tips but I will probably rock a color on my nails and my toes (maybe even blue because that's one of my wedding colors). I really don't think it's tacky.

I find those funky nails are very trendy. They look cute now but years down the road you may wonder "what was I thinking?" I would personally go for something timeless like a regular French manicure or solid colour nail polish.

You could compromise and do a traditional french with a purple line along the tip? I don't think there's anything wrong with a little pizazz on the ring finger, either!

My colors are purple and yellow and I was thinking doing just a light purple color for me and the bridesmaids. Something that almost looks like a neutral and won't be noticeable in pictures or from a distance, but isn't a plain french tip or too boring. Maybe add a bit of sparkle to it.

Personally I don't like any colored tips at all, there's nothing natural looking about them and they draw too much focus on your nails. I. prefer French or a light nude pink for wedding day. I do like the nude with the glitter though for something a little different.

I am not a fan of colored tips at all. I will do french tips.
