Are invitations through Minted etc worth it?

Hi! I'm trying to figure out my invitations right now and not sure if I should go through sites like minted, zazzle etc. or if I should look for a company around my area who does invitations? I know its probably more expensive that way, but wonder if it's worth me not having to do all of the work.

    I used Minted!

I actually just finished stuffing the envelopes today!

I loved the ease of using their website. I was able to get all the items I needed plus extra and it wasn’t horrible. I never did look at the local places near me just knowing that I fell in love with the design I found. I also was able to get everything 25% off. I had picked my style last year and was just waiting for a sale to buy them. My parents helped me with how to word or what they thought about formatting.

You do get proofs of your suite and can make changes. I asked for a . to be put in the RSVP to match the style on the invitation and it was not a problem and such an easy process.

I also did not print the addresses on the envelops. Because we got them early during a sale we skipped that, and did it ourselves. It was super easy once we figured out the mail merge with word. Even was able to find the font the invitation used and used that, so it all matches still.

I love how they have come out and hope my guest do to.

OH and I also love that my favor tags can match.... their suites are super nice.

I'm ordering mine on minted today after a very long search for a design we both loved. Can't wait to see the final product!

I got a Groupon for zazzle. $40 for 100 save the dates. We had many cards to choose from in the promotion and found once that fit our theme. I wish I had more choice, but it was worth the price. And they were really cute.

I used Vistaprint because it was cheaper than Minted and Zazzle. I don't know about Minted and Zazzle, but Vistaprint allows you to pay for a designer to help you create your invitations. It might be worth looking into on the other websites so you can compare prices if you are looking to take some of the design work out of your hands.

Personally, I really enjoyed playing around with all the different options and creating an invitation that suited my fiance and me perfectly.

We used minted for our 100 save the dates ($423!!) - while they're nice I couldn't find an invitation design on their site that I liked. We opted to go with a local stationary place who is making MY DREAM invitations - I signed contract for $1675. 100 letter press invitations, envelope liner, 100 digital RSVP cards, RSVP envelopes + 1 digital insert card.

I am using Etsy. We are so lucky these days to have so many services to choose from. I found some lovely, not overly priced, handmade invitations through Etsy. I ordered some samples and we picked one. We only need 50 invites and it will be around $230 for those - including the invitation, rsvp bard. Additional information card, and all the envelopes including a return/self addressed one. I find that incredibly reasonable. Good luck!!

We used Minted and I was incredibly pleased. I was able to work with the designer and customize everything I wanted, beyond what was originally editable. They came on time and I loved the envelope addressing and accessory options.

FH and I used Vistaprint for our STD's but I have seen Minted invites and they are definitely higher quality. In all honesty, I also prefer minted's designs.

FH and I agreed in the beginning that we wouldn't splurge on invites since most guests won't honestly remember them. I keep getting tempted to overspend but I'm keeping my mind on our budget and minted doesn't fit the bill for us.

If you don't mind me asking who are you using from etsy? That's a good price for assembled invites!

I got my invitations from Minted. I was very happy with the quality and received tons of compliments on them. I went to a couple brick-and-mortar stores like Papyrus and they were all way more expensive than all of the online shops. Papyrus was in the $**** range for anything I liked, and charged $1.50 PER ENVELOPE to address them, and that was not even for hand calligraphy, it was just someone manually feeding them through a printer. With Minted, I ended up spending ~$600 and that included the envelope addressing. I thought their customer service was great, and their designers were able to tweak the template I chose to fit all the text I needed on there.

ETA I also got my save the dates and thank you cards from minted. The address book feature is awesome too, because you only have to upload them once, and then can save them in your account for easy addressing on all future orders.

I used minted as well and I highly recommend them. The invitations were affordable and look great. There are templates to help with the wording and placement, but you can always change that and customize it yourself. The frequent sales definitely make it worth it. I think I ended up getting 50% off my invitations, which was much more reasonable compared to anywhere else. Invitations are crazy expensive and no one will pay attention to it after the wedding.

Minted and wedding paper divas were a lot more affordable than going to a print shop. I wanted to go all out on invites but my husband brought up a good point "except for our parents, the invites are ending up in the garbage"

creating the invite and doing the envelopes myself online was really not much of a hassle. i did the invite outline at work in like an hour and the envelopes i banged out one night before bed.

Depends on your budget I guess haha. I didn't really care that much about the invitations (no custom invitations and calligraphy for me) and I ended up going with minted and we got tons of compliments on everything. I also used the minted website which I thought made everything very easy. I also paid the extra $20 for the custom wedding link which I thought was worth it.
