Are Groom Showers common?

I've never heard of it so must not be that common. Buttttt I think it's an awesome idea. They deserve to be showered too!

Aren't they called jack and jill showers? I've never heard of only the groom having a shower. They usually get a bachelor party.

We threw one in my office for my male coworker (we also threw him a baby shower when his wife got pregnant). We did a few of them for male coworkers at my old place of employment, too.

My FH's work is also throwing us a shower! They are going to have it after work so I can come too though.

@AugustBride - I believe Jack and Jill is another word for co-ed shower or wedding shower.

I've seen it done at offices. I think that might be the only place it is common though.

I'm invited to his as well, but unfortunately I might not be able to make it due to work commitments.

We've thrown "showers" for male coworkers before - basically it consists of all pitching in for a gift card to one of the stores he is registered at and some cake in the breakroom.

Looks like these are more common than I thought Good to know people consider the groom as well!

That's awesome!!! I kinda wonder if my FH work will do something for him coz they've all been up his butt about proposing to me for well over a year and a half.

Matthew's office surprised him with one! It was so cute. He said he was so speechless and honored.

We do them at work for our male coworkers who are getting married or having a baby, and FH's office does too. He said they're a little more all out for the girls, but I would guess that he'll get a cake and a few gifts (normally a very large bottle of champagne and Amex gift card).

Here where I'm from, men have what are called "Honey Do" showers where they are given tools, etc and they invite their guy friends.

At first, I was like no, I haven't heard of that. Then I realized H had a "shower" of sorts at work right before our wedding. Basically they had a cake for him and we got a shit ton of liquor. It was great.
