Are garters necessary?

We decided not to do bouquet toss and garter toss because almost all our friends are married already. So if no toss then I don't even want to waste time with taking the garter off. I would rather keep people dancing and having fun then take the time to do it. Anyone else skip the garter all...

Thanks in advance!

I had planned on wearing a garter but I forgot it! So we just went without! Haha

Only necessary if you want it. My friend is buying me one as my something blue. We won't be tossing it though

I don't think I really want to do one. I bought a garter but might return it. It makes me feel a bit awkward to think of friends and family watching while FH goes up my dress.

ETA: check this article out. I REALLY do not want one now

There really is no need to wear one if you are not tossing it. I'd skip it. They can be uncomfortable.
