Hi, we are having a wedding of about 30 people in a small Italian restaurant in Williamsburg Brooklyn. I was going over all my to do lists with my mom and she said "don't forget to ask about corsages (when ordering your bouquet) for his mother and your two grandmothers!" (my mom won't be wearing one as she has allergies) is this still a thing? I don't really get it, to me it's so 80's / prom. What do you ladies think?

I'm doing them for our VIPs. Getting their preference on wrist or pin before I order.

Yes, they definitely are! I am having a pin on corsage in lieu of a bouquet (logistics have my hands full, so it would be a hassle to carry one).

Lol, I never liked corsages. We're also having a small wedding- our ceremony will be at The Foundry and our dinner celebration will be held at a nearby restaurant. My FH requested corsages (florist have her an option between a small bouquet or a corsage).

I am having them because I want to honor my mother, my FH's mom, and my grandmothers. I also got something for my FFIL and grandfather.

    It's totally up to you!

We will not be doing them. In my personal opinion it reminds me of school dances and are useless in my eyes, but of course I have become indifferent to flowers at my wedding. So really it just comes down to personal preference.

We are actually doing rings for our mothers! We all thought corsages were a little out dated and prom-like so we are going to do this beautiful fresh succulent rings.

My Mom realllly wanted one. I think they are dumb, but she insisted so we had to do them for all the Moms and step moms....

She didn't want to pin anything to her dress and ruin it.

I'm using succulents. I go back and forth between a succulent wrist cuff (so basically a fancy corsage) and a mini bouquet. A hairpiece might be fun though, especially since I'm treating my mom to hair and make up ( I'm not having a bridal party and FH's mom isn't in the picture, so I'd only be doing something for my mom). I'll have to ask what she prefers. Thanks for all the ideas though. These are great.

I'm doing them. I love that our grandparents get something special to help them stand out. They are a big part of our lives.

There are some nice variations, as the men wear bounerre, you can get you mom a brooch, or even soon herbs like evergreen or palms, even cranberry. If of cultural interest your country flag. My wedding is all about out native county flag colors to honor where we are from, ansesrty & roots'

I know quite a few people here on WW are not a fan of corsages, but I had them. We got them for our mothers and my grandmother, and they appreciated it.

I'm shocked at how many people aren't fans of corsages. Unless my mom or FMIL had severe allergies or adamantly told me no- there's no way I'd let my wedding day go by with nothing for the two most important women there. As a guest, I'd also like to know who/where they are if I only know bride and groom. Call me Uber-old-fashioned.
