Beginner April 2020

april 25th Wedding... Any late April, early May brides?

on March 24, 2020 at 12:31 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8
Really unsure on what to do. Our guest list is at around 150-160 people. We’re getting married on a private ranch so the venue isn’t an issue at all. But with what’s going on we were thinking of changing it to just family and keeping it very small, under 50 people so we can still get married on our day. What do you guys think? What are you doing with your wedding plans?

Our original date was April 25th and we pushed it back to September. I don’t think this will get better by then. It seems like most April/May brides are postponing.

April weddings need to be postponed, even having a small wedding with a dozen people is reckless and irresponsible. This pandemic is serious and it will not be over by May. One infected person at your wedding could infect many other people there, who go on to infect others, and on and on. Postpone.

I agree with the PP. I would postpone it to a few months out. April will still be risky and even a few people is not good.

No doubt at all, you need to postpone.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, and I'm so sorry, but I think postponing is your only option. April is way too soon to be having a wedding, even an intimate wedding with very few people.

I think you probably have to postpone. I'm so sorry. We have a community hub of all our COVID-19 information, including cancellation guides, monthly planning posts, and advice on how to get additional support. I hope it helps you navigate this difficult time!

Unfortunately, I know this isn't what you want to hear but I agree with PP that it's better to postpone. I'm sorry, it's a difficult decision and we're going through it too. Everyone we've told has been so understanding, since they can see what is going on too. It's rough, especially after planning everything, but it will be for the best. I'd feel so awful if someone got sick because they came to my wedding, and even worse if it caused any fatalities which unfortunately is possible. Even if it's a smaller event older guests could catch it from someone asymptomatic

Please please reschedule. I've actually contracted COVID-19 because my fiancé's coworker, in an office of 6 people, contracted it. March-April-and most of May weddings should definitely be postponed to get a handle on this virus.
