Anyone Using Vitamin String Quartet for Ceremony/Dinner music?

KKnTrev, on March 31, 2012 at 5:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

I really like their music, but I'm unsure of what songs would be good for the ceremony? I was thinking of the bridal party walking to 100 years by Five for Fighting, and then I would walk to Marry Me by Train or Have I Told You Lately by Rod Stewart. My DJ says he can slow them down to make it work but I'm curious what you other ladies are using? I'm trying to finish my program and until I decide I can't!!! This music is killing me! Help!

I'm using their version of Coldplay's song Yellow that will play when I walk down the aisle. There's an even more subdued orchestra-type version of that song on Youtube that someone made for a friends wedding that I am going to have playing when my bridesmaids walk down the aisle. Vitamin String has good versions of God Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts, Love Story by Taylor Swift, Iris by Goo Goo Dolls, Can't Help Falling In Love, Take My Breath Away, Stolen by Dashboard Confessional (one of my faves), We Belong by Pat Benetar (I guess this was used on Gossip Girl, I just found it and it's wonderful!), and one of my all time favorites, Faithfully by Journey. Hope that helps ; ) I'm a huge Vitamin String Quartet fan!

I haven't really chosen 1 yet, but I love listening to them.

Did you hear their version of F- You? We thought it'd be funny to play because it sounds so pretty but some people would recognize what song it was (but grandma wouldn't).

We are playing those songs at dinner. F You, Crazy B**** etc. We figured it would be less offensive, but still put our taste into it. And those who know it will think its funny.

Neither is my FH. I spent 3 hours deciding on a song he didn't care about and then says he doesn't like it. Ahhhhhhhh. I stole and idea from another lady on here. If he vetoes something he must find a replacement himself that I like better!! That has kept his mouth quiet for the most part LOL

I was considering using Vitamin String Q, but not certain which songs or for what part of the wedding.

We are using 18th Floor Balcony by Blue October (VSM version) for the song that I'll be walking to. All of the rest of the music will also be VSM versions of Blue October songs.

@Monica -- I lived in the college dorm for 2 years with Jeremy (have some great pics) and Justin used to come up and visit every few weeks. Great guys!! Love them!!

My DH wanted to walk in to a Metallica song, so VSQ was our compromise...
