Anyone use WedPics recently? Or other alternatives to videographer?

Danielle, on October 31, 2015 at 12:53 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

I am thinking about using WedPics and was curious how your experiences were. I am moreso looking for the video aspect so that I can compile people's videos to make a montage later since we aren't getting a videographer.

Any input or other similar ideas to capture your guests videos?

I'm using WedPics but we also contacted the university where we are getting married and asked if a film and video student could be our videographer for way cheaper than a company.

This is a great question. I plan on using it and have it all set up. I am currently trying to figure out ways to get people to use it. I have it on the website and it says something about getting thing started by posting funny pics of Stacy and Scott over the years.

@Stacy that's good idea to get people to download earlier!

@RingAroundTheRoushes - ah what a great idea! I may just have to contact a few of the ones around here about that either way!

So far only my MOH has downloaded it. I'm hoping more people will at my shower.

I want to use it, but I'm not sure how many people would actually do it. Commenting to follow.

I have a friend who used it as her only resource for pictures and she loved it. She's trying to convince me to go the same route. Idk. She did get loads of pictures from all of us, but I'm not sure it would work the same for me or anyone else.

I used wedpics. Not sure about the video aspect you're looking for but for pics it worked out great! DH ordered little cards from them to put in with the invitations; many people joined that way. You can monitor it and see who joined; which we did, then just before the wedding, we sent out electronic (through wedpics) invitations to join. It was very easy and a great way to see a variety of pics in one place. We haven't done anything else with it yet.

My fiance and I decided on WeddingMix as a more budget friendly alternative to videographer. We are renting cameras through them so the visual and sound quality is higher and we can get lots of footage during our wedding weekend! They had been really nice to work with so far too. Hope that helps! Heidi
