Anyone use Groupon??

K & C, on October 8, 2013 at 9:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

I'm searching around for bridal party gifts. Being that I have 6 brides and 6 groomsmen, in addition to our parents, godparents, and other important ppl in out wedding, I'm looking for deals! I've seen some excellentttt bargains on Groupon. Example: Invicta watches originally marked as $500+ now on sale for $75, or sterling silver and Swarovski crystal jewelry originall marked $150+ now on sale for $30. I've already tried buying ray bans from groupon. They were real, but way too small, so I had to return them. I'm now reluctant with the other products. So I'm wondering, are any of deals legit?? Has anyone bought name brand producs or any jewelry with success??

I attempted to buy part of my bridesmaids gift on groupon (a necklace, bracelet & earring set) and I ordered 3 of them. They emailed me and said they wouldn't be in when they were supposed to be. So about 3 weeks later I got 1 set in the mail. I emailed them and they said they didn't know if or when they'd be getting any more in and they couldn't guarantee getting it to me any time soon. However the next day a customer service rep contacted me and offered to either put the $ back on my CC or credit my groupon acct for a future purchase. I had them refund the $ and they refunded all 3 purchases. So their customer service is really good, but Id do it well in advance (I'm on my phone & can't see your wedding date) because it may take a while to receive them.

I have ordered watches from Groupon before, did not have a problem with my items, but they do TAKE A LONG TIME to be shipped. If you have time and think it's a good deal go for it, in worst case scenario, you can always return it, but if you liked it and decide to keep it at least you save some $$$

I've used groupon for things like hotels, food beauty services, and always had great success with the services part. A friend used a groupon printer for invitations and it was good. I haven't tried any gifts, sorry but like I said real good luck with services

When I lived on Chicago I used it for just about everything. And I never had a problem with timing or anything.

I use it much, much less now in suburban PA, but I did just order a "Good" and it arrived very quickly no complaints here!

I really suggest some pampering and relaxation for you and your bridal party. If it doesn't have to be a physical gift, give them a certificate to some spa's or something of the sort. I find that to be an amazing gift, and much needed sometimes. LOL

We purchased some USBs in the shape of keys with a groupon and they too 8 weeks to arrive. Totally worth it, but waiting was hard.

I've used Groupon a ton of times. The only thing I have to complain about with them is slow ship time (sometimes takes weeks just to ship out!). The last few things I bought have arrived very quickly so though maybe they're working on it. I bought beautiful Mikasa vases for my bridesmaids as one of their gifts and have gotten a few for Vistaprint for invites and STDs (as far as wedding related items).

Groupon is great when you have plenty of time! Plus they accept returns and their customer service rocks! Never had an issue with returns! If you run into a limit on the number of items you can buy like 3 when you need 6 - just have your groom buy the other set.

That said, I used ebay for my Bridal Party's jewelry (ring, necklaces, and Bracelet) and Overstock (earrings).

And I splurged on some Coach (wristlets and weekender) from the Coach Outlet!
