Anyone trying to plan their wedding while working AND in grad school?

I was just wondering if anyone else is working, in grad school, and trying to plan their wedding. I'm doing all of the above, AND trying to keep up eating healthy and exercising on a normal basis-- still want to lose some more weight before the wedding. Any tips, or advice, or even just complaints?...

Any tips, or advice, or even just complaints? lol It's hard to balance all of it sometimes and sadly the first thing that seems to go is my gym and yoga time even though I enjoy it and it keeps me sane.

Yes- I work full time and I'm in grad school full time. Sprinkle on top I have two little girls so I'm a mommy full time as well. Like everyone else my wedding is right around the corner and I feel that I wish I could be doing more. One thing I will say is bundle things together if you can. What I mean is find vendors that provide more than one service. For me that was a life saver because I just didn't have a lot of time to meet with alot of different people.

I work full-time, was in school (just graduated with my bachelors) and I work on weekends from time to time (I've cut back on that). Plus, I have two (older) kiddos to run around. It's tough, but you can do it. Good luck!

I am in college one year left, planning a wedding, getting my son ready for middle school, being supamom, supa fiance', best daughter, and the list goes on...I'm tired. Soon, I will be starting my DIY's!!!

Wow to all of you who have kids, too! You're amazing! I can't imagine having to care for children on top of it all. I guess when it comes down to it, we do what we need to do, and get it all done!

I normally have a couple of different to-do lists going... but you have all inspired me to get super organized-- it seems to be the secret to staying sane with all of the things that need to get done. I think I'm going to sit down and make a huge to-do list of everything I need to get done for the wedding. And try to schedule my yoga and gym time in the calendar to make it more "official" so I don't skip it.

It's tough. Like others have said I find it easier to get places that bundle--our ceremony/reception are in one place and the price included the cake and table flowers. The wedding has definitely given me much needed mental breaks from school, but it's still hard to get everything done that I need to. And it's ridiculous stressful. Prelims for my PhD program are next week--essentially a two year cumulative exam that determines whether you're smart enough to continue. No pressure. Not stressing at all.... (yeah right!) Put on top of that BM drama and ahhh!!

I'm not working but am in grad school. I feel so guilty that my thesis is taking so long and I don't think that starting a new job while doing wedding planning is a smart idea. So i'm holding off on seeking employment. Which is the opposite of what we should do since we need money for this wedding!!

I'm working full time, accepted to start college courses online this fall to work towards a degree, along with planning a wedding across the country. I'm hoping it's not going to be as over whelming as it sounds at the moment.

Well kinda. I'm not in grad school but I am working on my BS degree. I am in school full time and with only 2.5 weeks until graduation and the wedding a little over a month away I am going crazy over here. Luckily I get to get away from all this craziness when I get to see FH, which nowadays isn't very often Smiley sad

Just keep things simple and make sure FH helps! It also is nice I'd a family member can help out too.

OMG yes but graduation was last week so I'm finally getting a break. I was also working two jobs so I had almost no time to get anything done. I feel so much better now that the semester is over, but its crumch time to get the wedding stuff done.

I'm working 40(+) hours a week, going back to school in the fall after a three year hiatus, and planning a wedding. It was basically at a standstill because now it's time to start crafting and planning it all together (which should give me a second to breathe...)

I am working and doing grad school as well! I have to get up at 4:30am every morning to fit my workout it. I suggest working out in the morning, because you will get it out of the way and can't come up with an excuse to miss it later. I also use running as my stress relief, so I always make it a priority to workout.

I was, though I wasn't working full-time, just part-time and doing an internship! No real tips except manage your calendar aggressively. Best of luck, and commiseration!

    Me toooooo.

Work full time plus hours, in graduate school, and planning a September wedding. I’ve never been stressed more in my life. Buying and remodeling my home wasn’t this stressful! I’m enthusiastic about my wedding day coming and going, it’s been a very stressful time. All I can say is keep on trucking on and knowing that all this will amount to something eventually, haha.

I a lot of the time go to the gym instead of sleeping....I forget to eat...often! madness!!!!

My sister is currently doing this and she is a stressball most days lately, but I am so proud of her for sticking through it. This time shall pass and your wedding will be beautiful! Just imagine if you threw kids or real estate purchasing into the mix.

I'm so glad I'm not considered insane. This month (today, actually), I begin a fulltime load of grad school MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling courses (9 hours), plus I work full time at a group home for clients with developmental disabilities (mostly evenings, early, or weekends), and planning the wedding, which is in October! This is on top of eating clean and exercising and trying to prep for a 5K with my fiance, who is overweight as well, who, while he played football in the past, does not enjoy running, like myself. Needless to say, I wish I'd done more the past month, but not having a car and my mom being a house manager at the same job has made it damn near impossible to make it to a lot of meetings that we could set up. I think I can do it. I am looking forward to the wedding but I'm just ready for October to be here.

I found it was best to pencil work out sessions into my planner as if they were mandatory meetings for work. I am full time grad school, while working full time, wedding planning, and my fiance is away for air force tech school training for our entire engagement, so it's been a lot. But I go crazy if I don't make myself fit a quick run or weights session in. Find out when works for you. It might mean setting your alarm half an hour earlier 3 days a week, but it'll be totally worth it. Remember your body responds to what you feed it. It'll handle stress easier on fruits, veggies, nuts, lean proteins, etc. than it will on processed junk. Of course I still stress eat sometimes, so who am I to talk. I hope this helps a bit! Congratulations on your career aspirations and your engagement! Enjoy it when you can!
