You should try one of those translator sites. Also, a good thing to know is what nationality your FMIL is. Spanish in Mexico is different than Spanish in Puerto Rico, which is different than Spanish in Spain, which is different than Spanish in the Dominican Republic, etc... it's all different dialects. I have friends that are from different backgrounds and sometimes have trouble with each other's "street language."

When i looked onlike I came up with -

Gracias por criar a su hijo para ser el hombre de mis sueños.

and

Gracias por plantear su hijo a ser el hombre de mis sueños.

DON'T USE THE GOOGLE TRANSLATION!! It doesn't really make sense.

What a pp said about different dialects is true but I don't think after the gesture she would be like "umm this sounds like a puertorrican talking..." lol also I used puertorrican because I'm puertorrican, not trying to offend anyone.

Anyway we got my mom one of those from my fiance and after many discussion with my sister and best friend this is what we came up with (I'll use man so you can use it) Gracias por haber criado al hombre de mis sueños"

It translates to "thank you for raising the man of my dreams" we didn't find a way to translate the exact message without it being awkward or feeling like a fake translation. Hope this helps

Con mucho amor. In English it says you raised your son with whom i will spend the rest of my life with, with lots of love , he's proud to call u his mom and I'm blessed to call him my husband... With lots of love ..... Correct spelling and all! Lol. Good luck

Or you can write, te agradezco por haber criado al hombre de mis sueños. which translates to I want to thank you for raising the men of my dreams

My spanish is terrible.

But I will tell you that I use google translate to talk to my Korean friends and 98% of the time it is pretty dern close. Then again I always double check with babble fish, and a couple other sites.

I do the same thing. Then after I do my five different translators I ask a friend.

Those translators aren't supposed to accurately translate things 100% they are supposed to be a guideline. I always recommend a double check

"Gracias por darle vida al hombre de mis suenos"

"Thank you for giving life to the man of my dreams"

this one sounds a bit better in my opinion.

"Criar" (to raise) can also sound a bit like raising chickens.... give life (Dar vida) sounds a bit more romantic.

"Gracias por criar a su hijo para ser el hombre de mis sueños" is the right spelling
