Anyone NOT doing false eyelashes?

I know it's all the hype right now, the sex appeal, "it makes your eyes pop". But here's my opinion: When I do my makeup everyday (& my trial runs for DIY) I already focus on making my eyes pop & so far I've always gotten high compliments. I work well with mauve colors to give me that pop but...

I know it's all the hype right now, the sex appeal, "it makes your eyes pop". But here's my opinion: When I do my makeup everyday (& my trial runs for DIY) I already focus on making my eyes pop & so far I've always gotten high compliments. I work well with mauve colors to give me that pop but natural at the same time. Not trying to look like a sex kitten, esp for my wedding day. JMO I want to look beautiful but naturally me, & I feel like false eyelashes on top of heavier application, would be too dramatic.

I get they stick out more in photos, but to me the point of self-photos for wedding, is to capture ALL of me, not just my popping eyes.

All my opinions combined, I wont be doing false eyelashes, I feel it's not necessary if I can achieve the look I'm going for. w/o them.

Anyone else with me or am I the only one?

PS my lashes arent THAT long but they're not short either.

I've never worn them, nor do I plan to. I'm not into the super made up look personally - I don't typically wear any make up, so fake lashes is just to much for me.

I'm not even sure if I'll wear mascara... I've yet to find one that doesn't leave me with black eyes (I've been looking for year!)

I'm a makeup junkie. And I just couldn't bring myself to wear them. Looking at the pictures, I'm SO glad I didn't!! My lashes are long and straight. And barely visible. But when I curl them and use two coats of the 'Pink & Green Maybelline', everyone ALWAYS compliments me on them. I get asked often if I'm wearing false lashes. I say, go with what makes you comfortable, and beautiful, and like YOURSELF! If anything you wear makes you feel self-conscious, it shows. Better to skip it than try to keep up with the trends...

I'm not wearing false eyelashes. I used to wear them with stage make-up when I danced (not THAT kind of dance, mind you), but they're so uncomfortable to me that I'd be focusing on teh gunk glued to my eyes instead of enjoying my wedding day. Plus, as soon as I get a little alcohol in me, they'd make me NUTS and I'd just end up pulling them off anyway.

I wanted to, but my hair took longer than I thought, I was going to put clusters on that looked more natural (I had practiced it myself, putting them on)..my BMs basically said I was crazy and didn't need that since my lashes are so long on their own..I did use pretty good mascara though!

I probably won't. I've never worn them but I have crazy long eyelashes already and people are constantly asking me if I have fake ones on all the time!

I am still debating on this. I've never worn fake eyelashes so I dont really know but I have really short eye lashes and wanted them to stand out more on my wedding day but IDK cause I want to be comfortable and I heard they can be very heavy on your eyes and make your eyes water a lot so I am still debating on if I will or not

I have long lashes too but still decided to wear them for my wedding. I wore individual lashes which IMO don't look sexy at all but rather more natural. Just enhanced a bit. I think they made my eyes look beautiful and added to the overall effect of my makeup. My MUA was truly amazing. (See pics below) But to each their own. And I commend you for doing what U want for your wedding. Smiley smile

I'm not wearing them. I have really long eye lashes as it is, and my bff/mua can make them look dramatic without them. Smiley smile

Real life makeup and photography makeup can be very different, so make sure what pops in the mirror will pop in photography. I don't think false eyelashes always give a "sex kitten" look, especially if they're applied skillfully and chosen well. For instance, you can apply just a few individual lashes, which give a more natural look. I'm not sure I'll be wearing them because I don't like how they feel, but don't rule them out if you haven't talked to a good makeup artist. I'm not saying you have to wear them, but if you're not wearing them just because you think they'll look too sexy, I think you should try them out first!

I was a brides maid and had lashes in for first time. They were uncomfortable and I won’t wear them on my big day or any other day. I blinked so much, totally wasn’t for me. I agree with you on this

I’m also not wearing them. I don’t want to worry about the comfort or them falling off and I find I can have just as beautiful of makeup without them.

Is anyone trying eyelash extensions instead? The extra detail stands out in the photos.

I'm really debating this for myself. I wear glasses and in the times that I've tried false eyelashes it just did not work with my glasses, the lashes just hit the lens and it's really annoying and uncomfortable. On a day-to-day basis I don't wear makeup at all. For the wedding I'm looking at just getting my makeup done very natural.
