Anyone make their own card box?

I am just not seeing any I like that do not cost more than $50 so I am thinking of making my own unless anyone has a lead on a good cheap option. I like the look of the photo frame card boxes, but it seems to be not that easy to do. What about something like this that I decorate myself:...

I still have a year so I am in the try all the things to see what works mode

You can decorate that type of box by painting and adding ribbon.
I made my box out of foam board and gold paint.

Whatever you decorate it with make sure someone can’t reach in/ it doesn’t have an open top. I just heard this aweful story someone local to me got married, at a very popular venue, and a chunk of cards, Like 12-18 of them were stolen. Once she posted on Facebook about how aweful it was so many other people mentioned how either a venue staff or someone else stole cards from their weddings too!!

I bought 2 small cardboard boxes in a pattern I liked from Joann Fabrics for like $4 each. I stacked them on top of each other by cutting out bottom of one and covering the seam with a ribbon. Then I cut a slot on the top cover. It was actually one of my more successful DIY projects!

That's the box I bought! I paid $15 for it. Hobby Lobby were doing a big sale on wedding stuff. I decorated with vinyl stickers and some ribbon with rhinestones. I liked it rather simple ^^

I made my own from supplies at Joanns and boxes we had around the house. I didn’t finish it quite yet, but I’m almost done. Just to have to do a printout with our names and wedding date and trim the bow a little.
